Gummi Buddies

Introduction: Ms. Pham’s gummi buddy decorations were great for winter, but they need
to be rearranged for the upcoming spring. In your groups, help her transform them into the
spring decorations.
Essential Question: How many of each Winter Gummi is needed to make a set of Spring Gummis with no
leftovers?
Task: Create a poster either on Google Slides or Canva that includes…
1. A balanced chemical equation that starts with Winter Gummis and ends with Spring Gummis
2. A visual of said balanced equation using the Gummi Bears, sticks, and paperclips
3. An explanation of the starting gummis given and what gummis needed to be vended from the Gummi
Vendor (Ms. Pham) in order to complete your transformation with NO leftovers.
4. The usage of the balanced equation to solve 3 challenge questions

Equation Set Up: You will start with Winter arrangements, Y-Gummi (GwP3) and Gummi-on-a-Stick (GrS2). You
will reassemble them into their Spring arrangement, Hexa-Gum (GwS6) and Bi-Gum (Gr2P2). Pictures of each can
be found below!
