Product Prospectus
For my senior project I selected to do a CAD drawing of a large storage shed. On top of
that I will also create a list for the materials needed to complete the design I'm going to create.
After I create all of this, then I will move on to creating a bid for the product, with pricing for
how much it will cost for the building and the price of labor to build the storage shed as well.
You’ll see these things implicated in the real world when it comes to construction companies
getting the bid for buildings that need to be built for people. So in all, I will create a CAD
drawing of the building that needs to be built then calculate the prices of the labor and materials
To complete this process I will need to first use a free CAD software online to create the
building and all of its dimensions so that I can figure out how much materials I need to build this
building. To complete this CAD of the building It should be rather simple as a large storage shed
isn’t as difficult as a house with more walls and rooms and such. I hope to have the CAD done in
the next two weeks so that I can start getting into the more complicated process for me which is
figuring out the materials I will need. I hope that after I have completed the CAD that I quickly
begin to start figuring out the materials needed to build this building so that I can have a list of
things down to start getting prices for. There are a lot of materials that go into building these
buildings so it will be challenging to figure out everything I need quickly so I just need to make

sure I stay engaged with this task and I can hopefully have this completed by the end of
February.
After I complete the list of all materials needed, I will then have to go downtown to our
local lumberyard to seek help with calculating the prices for my building. I feel like this should
work out perfectly because I can go there during my classes that I can use my senior privileges
in. I hope to have calculated the prices of materials and labor for this building by the first week
of march so that I can create the bid for the building with everything listed. I hope the bid
creation process goes smoothly and I may have to seek help from the lumberyard workers in
making this as well. Since this will be the final part of my project I just hope that I have it done
within a week of the due date so that I can have the product done and ready for any quick
modifications if needed.
I think I will definitely enjoy creating the bid the most, though I don’t think it will be the
easiest, it will make me feel great because It will mean I have completed my product. I think the
most difficult aspect of this project will be getting the list of materials and pricing everything,
however I feel that I will definitely be able to cope with the difficulty and do it fine. I will
definitely need to enlist in the help of the Lumberyard workers, so I hope that they will be able to
assist me with what I need to ask them. Their help will be needed for me to figure out what
materials I will need, the proper pricing for the materials and labor, and creating a bid for my
building. I believe they should be able to help me with all of this as it’s what they do for their
job.
With everything written down now, my next step in the creation process of everything
listed, is to create the CAD drawing of the building. In addition, I would also like to hopefully
start my list so that I can ensure I'm getting things done for my product. I’m honestly not sure I'm

prepared for this but I feel like as long as I really try and just keep up with my due dates I should
create a pretty neat product. I’ve been kind of dreading this all of my high school career but now
that I am here and I have everything outlined, I feel pretty confident that I can do this. I’m rather
excited now actually, because I feel like this product should be relatively easy as long as I stay
