Course Details:
A. Summary
This 2-unit course enables Service Physical Education students to study Dances, its nature, forms,
significance, and interpretations based on existing dance literatures and works of Dance
practitioners, educators and researchers. It imparts an appreciation for the variety and scope of and
the application of twenty-first century skills to learning dances and the development of a dance
language necessary to verbal description and discussion of dance as an art form. Repertory classes
will provide an avenue for college students to apply the elements essential in performances. Thus,
students will be able to adapt and transfer the movement competency in Dance through a variety of
media and performances.
B. Objectives
1. Discuss the elements and principles of Dance in relation to choreography, composition and staging of
dances.
2. Choreograph, Compose and Stage dances with performance elements (grace, poise, form and
rhythm).
C. Learning Outcomes
▪ risks associated with physical activity; Fitness and physical activity assessment results;
▪ personal, cultural and social factors that motivate or inhibit healthy choices about physical
activity and nutrition behaviors to enhance one’s capacity to take responsibility for oneself.
2. Participate in moderate to vigorous physical activities in accordance with national and global
recommendation for physical education in the “new normal” set-up.
1. Devise, apply and appraise a range of strategies to improve physical activity performances and
injury prevention through E-learning experiences.
2. Promote practical and creative interventions that will create community connection and
contribute to the health and well-being of the school and/or larger community through PF- ICT
activities.
