1. Chant the given text correctly.

Activities 1. Teacher greets the pupils and does some housekeeping.


2. He elicits pupils’ responses on some words with blends. (pl, bl, cl, gl and fl)
3. He guides the pupils to pronounce each word with blends.
4. Pupils look at the examples in their textbook.
5. They write the examples of blends into their exercise book. They are told to
add extra examples in each category.
6. The teacher then guides them to read the chant on page 105.
7. Each pupil takes turn to chant.

Activities Pre-lesson
1. Review Part 1 of the story (See Lesson 125).
Lesson delivery
2. Show pupils the five pictures of the story (Part 2). Have them predict in
pairs which order they come in in the story.
3. Give pupils the headings for each of the five sections of the story to match
to the pictures.
4. Have pupils sit comfortably and read quietly on their own. After reading,
they check their predictions.
5. Play the CD and follow the instructions in the Teacher’s Book for Activity 1
(While reading)
6. Follow instructions in the Teacher’s Book for the After reading activity.
Post-lesson
7. Have pupils express their opinions of the story in a pairwork or small group
activity.

Lesson Objective 1. Pupils will be able to state whether an event is certain or impossible.

Success Criteria 1. Answer at least 5 questions correctly.

Activities 1. Pupils recite the times table 8 -12 and 25.


2. Pupils play a quiz as a warm up activity.
3. Teacher reviews the topic of likelihood.
4. Pupils are selected randomly to give examples of events that are impossible
and certain.
5. They are then given exercises as a reinforcement.
