Chapter III

METHOD OF STUDY AND SOURCES OF DATA

This chapter introduces the details of Research Design, Respondent of the study,

Sampling, Data Gathering Procedures, Data Gathering Instruments and Research

methodology and validated by the experts.

Research Design

The comparative research design was used in this research to know the opinions

of our respondents and to check the effectiveness of using annatto lip moisturizer to

students in New Christian Academy.

Respondent of the study

The subject of this research were 30 senior high school in New Christian

Academy. The students were divided into two groups, the experimental groups and

control groups. There were 15 students in the respected groups that was randomly

selected.

Instrument

The researchers prepare a questionnaire to be answered by the respondents of

New Christian Academy students. It consists of questions that is closely related to the

study.

A. Research Instrument

The students made a multiple check list test is the main instrument used in

measuring the effectiveness of using Annatto lip moisturizer to student of New Christian
Academy. The researcher prepared test for gathering information about the effectiveness

of the Annatto lip moisturizer.

The students made a multiple check list test were observed as (1) planning the

test, (2) preparing the test, (3) reproducing the test, (4) distributing the test, (5) scoring

the test, (6) evaluating the test, (7) interpreting the test results.

It was composed of 5 questions about to our study that answered by our

respondents which is the senior high school students in New Christian Academy.

B. Validation of the Instrument

For validation, the student-made test was distributed to 30 senior high school

students. This process measured the effectiveness and reliability of the test items.

The student-made test was subjected to item analysis through the following procedure:

1. Dry run the test and score the papers.

Data gathering procedure

The data gathered from this research instrument were tallied and computed for

interpretation according to the frequency of items checked by the participants. Along

with primary data, the researchers also made use of secondary resources in the form of

published articles and literature to support the survey results.

Statistical Treatment

The researcher used the Pearson r and T-test as the statistical treatment that we

used in analyzing and computing the data.
