SECTION 10800 - TOILET AND BATH ACCESSORIES

1. PART 1 - GENERAL

1.01 SECTION INCLUDES

A. Toilet and washroom accessories for all toilets, bathrooms and washrooms as shown on
drawings and specified herein.

1.03 SUBMITTALS

A. Product data for each toilet accessory item specified, including details of construction
relative to materials, dimensions, gages, profiles, method of mounting, specified options,
and finishes.

B. Samples: Full-size samples of each toilet accessory item for verification of design,
operation, and finish requirements. Acceptable samples will be returned and may be used
in the work.

C. Setting Drawings: Where cut-outs are required in other works, provide templates,
substrate preparation instructions, and directions for preparing cut-outs and for installation
of anchorage devices.

1.04 TRANSPORTATION, HANDLING AND STORAGE

A. Deliver materials to the site in manufacturer's original factory wrappings and containers,
clearly labeled for identification of manufacturer, brand name and contents. Store
materials as per manufacturer's written recommendations.

1.05 WARRANTY

A. Submit a written guarantee signed by the manufacturer, agreeing to change the items
which fail in material or workmanship within a period of one year from the date of
substantial handing over.

1.06 QUALITY ASSURANCE

A. Inserts and Anchorages: Provide inserts and anchoring devices to be set in concrete or
built into masonry; coordinate delivery with other works to avoid delay.

B. Single-Source Responsibility: Provide products of same manufacturer for each type of


accessory unit and for units exposed to view in same areas, unless otherwise indicated on
Drawings.

C. Coordination: Coordinate the accessories locations, installation, and sequencing with


other work to avoid interference and to assure proper installation, operation, adjustment,
cleaning, and servicing of the accessories items.

2. PART 2 - PRODUCTS

2.01 MATERIALS

A. Stainless Steel:

1. Bar stock: Conform to ASTM A 276, Type 304.

2. Plates and Sheets: Conform to ASTM 167, Type 304.

3. Pipes: Conform to ASTM A 312, Grade Type 304.

4. Type of Finish: Brushed, unless otherwise indicated.

B. Fasteners: Screws, bolts, and devices of same material as accessory units. Where
concealed, provide galvanized steel screws, bolts, and devices.

C. Mirror Glass: Conform to ASTM C 1036, Type I, Class 1, Quality q2, and 6 mm thick
with silvering, electro-plated copper coating and protective organic coating.

2.02 FABRICATION

A. General: Stamped names or labels on exposed faces of toilet and bath accessories are not
permitted, except where otherwise indicated. Wherever locks are required for a particular
type of accessory, provide same keying throughout the project. Furnish two keys for each
lock.

B. Surface-Mounted Accessories: Except where otherwise indicated, fabricate units with


tight seams and joints, exposed edges rolled. Hang doors or access panels with continuous
piano hinge or minimum of two 38 mm pin hinges of same metal as unit cabinet. Provide
concealed anchorage wherever possible.

C. Recessed Accessories: Except where otherwise indicated, fabricate units of all welded
construction, without mitered corners. Hang doors or access panels with full-length
stainless steel piano hinge. Provide anchorage which is fully concealed when unit is
closed.

2.03 FABRICATED ACCESSORY ITEMS

A. Robe Hooks: Shall be as the following types:

1. Single Robe Hook: Flange 50 x 50 mm, 50 mm projection from wall, Brushed


finish stainless steel.

B. Soap Dispenser: Top-filling wall-mounted stainless steel liquid soap dispenser with 0.6L
capacity container and spout and escutcheon of stainless steel construction, Brushed
finish.

C. Soap Dish: Shall be of the following types:

1. Soap Dish: With trim kit in brushed stainless steel finish.

D. Towel Grab Bars: Shall be as the following types:

1.  32 mm satin finish stainless steel grab bar 600 mm length.

E. Toilet Paper Holder: Single-roll toilet paper holder of the following types:

1. Toilet Paper Holder: Brushed stainless steel finish.

F. Towel Ring with Trim Kit of the following types:

1. Towel ring with trim kit stainless of steel type 304, brushed finish.

G. Hand Dryer: Surface-mounted autopilot push button hand dryer, color as approved by the

Engineer.

H. Paper Towel Dispenser: In hairline finish, Stainless steel type 304 body and door frame.
Wall surface mounted type, dispensing minimum 400 C-fold paper towels.

I. Perineal Spray for Water Closet of the following types:

1. Perineal spray for water closet shall be gun pressure hand spray with swivelling
handspray holder, Treviflex metal hose 1.50 m long, chromium plated.

J. Shower Curtain Rod and Curtain of the following types:

1. Shower Curtain Rod and Curtain: Curtain shall be high quality decorative flexible
plastic, shower curtain rod and holder shall be detachable 19 mm dia stainless steel
type 304 with plastic grommet hooks.

K. Clear Glass Facial Mirror

1. Mirror Size:

a. Type FM: Clear glass mirror 400X600 mm

2. Plate glass, one piece mirror shall be of quality grade No.1, not less than 6 mm
thick, electrolytically copper backed, guaranteed 5 years against silver spoilage.

3. FM mirror type shall be with stainless steel type 304 frame, satin finish, and as
approved by the Engineer.

4. Galvanized steel back shall have integral horizontal hanging brackets for mounting
on concealed wall hangers and secured with concealed vandal-proof screws in
lower frame.

5. Frameless mirrors shall have manufacturer's standard accessories as required for


proper fixation.

3. PART 3 - EXECUTION

3.01 INSPECTION

A. Examine substrates, previously installed inserts and anchorages necessary for mounting of
toilet and bath accessories, as well as other conditions under which installation is to occur,
and must notify Contractor in writing of conditions detrimental to proper and timely
completion of work.

B. Do not proceed with work until unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected in manner
acceptable to Installer.

3.02 INSTALLATION

Technical Specifications

A. Install toilet and bath accessory units in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions,
using fasteners which are appropriate to substrate and recommended by manufacturer of
units. Install units plumb and level, firmly anchored in locations indicated.

3.03 ADJUST AND CLEAN

A. Adjust toilet and bath accessories for proper operation and verify that mechanisms
function smoothly.

B. Clean and polish exposed surfaces after removing the protective coatings.
