The MV EQUALIZER System for L Sub includes components as follows: Medium
Voltage Capacitor, Inductor/Reactors, Thyristors Valve, Fuse Cabinet, and Low Voltage Section for Monitoring and Protection
1. Medium Voltage Capacitor (MV Equalizer)
✓ Capacitors are electronic components that store and release electrical energy. They are widely used in electrical systems for various applications, including power factor correction, energy storage, and filtering. ✓ The size of the Capacitor for L Sub 11MVAR with group size of 648kVar:1,290Mvar:1290Mvar 1:2:2:2 ✓ Compose of 42 pieces of 430kVar Shunt Power Capacitor 2. Reactors ✓ A device used to introduce inductance into a circuit. This is often done intentionally to limit or control the flow of electric current, particularly in alternating current (AC) circuits. Reactors in this context are similar to inductors, sometimes called "inductive reactors." ✓ Compose of 9 units of inductors with the following sizes (3 units - 132mH 50A and 9 units 66mH 100A) 3. Thyristor Valve ✓ Refers to the arrangement of multiple thyristors in a specific configuration within the converter station. The thyristor valve controls the flow of DC power by allowing or blocking the current. The thyristors are turned on and off in a synchronized manner to convert AC to DC at the sending station and DC back to AC at the receiving station. ✓ For the L2 sub there are 9 sets of Thyristor valve cabinet 4. Fuse Cabinet ✓ typically refers to a housing or enclosure that contains electrical fuses. Electrical fuses are safety devices designed to protect electrical circuits and equipment from overcurrent conditions that could lead to damage or fire. The fuse cabinet provides a protective and organized environment for fuses, making them accessible for inspection and replacement. ✓ For L2 Sub there 1 set of Fuse Cabinet for the termination of XLPE 5. Protection, Monitoring, and Control Section – ✓ A section in the context of electrical systems refers to a set of components and functions designed to ensure the safety, reliability, and efficient operation of the power network ✓ 1 Unit Digital Fault Recorder for PQA Monitoring ✓ 1 Unit Digital Fault Recorder for Protection ✓ 1 Unit Elspec Controller ✓ 1 Unit Station Personal Computer (Built-in PQscada Sapphire Software) 6. XLPE Wires ✓ XLPE (Cross-Linked Polyethylene) wires refer to electrical cables or wires that have insulation made of cross-linked polyethylene material. XLPE is a type of thermosetting polymer that is commonly used as an insulation material for power cables due to its excellent electrical and thermal properties. ✓ The expected current for our 11,025 MVAR will be (11,025 x 1,000)/ 22,000 = 501.136 / 1.73 = 289.67 amps. ✓ 125mm2 XLPE Cable between the VCB & EQ for LSUB (Multi Core XLPE Cables +Ground) or 100mm2 XLPE Cable between the VCB & EQ for LSUB (Multi Core XLPE Cables + Ground).
