A Detailed Lesson Plan

Science 6

I. Objectives

At the end of the discussion, the pupils are expected to:

 Demonstrate how heat, light and electricity can be transformed. (S6FE-IIId-f2)

 Define energy transformation.
 Manipulate objects to describe transformation.

II. Subject Matter

Topic: Transformation of Energy

References: MELCS page 95

Materials: Laptop, PowerPoint, TV, Visual Aids

Values: knowing on how to conserve energy wisely.

III. Procedures

Teacher’s Activity Learner’s Activity

A. Daily Routine
Please stand up and let us pray (Pupils will stand up)

Good morning, Class! Good morning, Sir!

Can you arrange your chairs properly before you

sit.

May I know who is absent for today? No one is absent today sir.

Very Good!

B. Review

Before we proceed to our next lesson, we will be

having a game. Do you see these pictures? Yes sir!

These are source/examples of the forms of

energy and you will be going to paste it on their
designated area on the visual aid provided.
Are you ready? Yes Sir!
Okay, very
good! I
think
you

already know
the different
forms of energy.

Now let us
proceed to our new lesson.

C. Lesson Proper

Our topic for today is transformation of energy.

We already know what is energy right?

Okay, very good but what is energy

transformation?
Yes Sir!
“The energy transformation also known as
energy conversion is the process of changing
energy from one form to another.”

Some energy changes involve single

transformation while other involves
multiple/many transformations.

There are different forms of energy

transformation, the first one is the Sound
Energy.
We already know what sound energy is right?

Ok so examples of this are

Radio- from electrical energy to sound energy
Yes Sir!
Guitar- from mechanical energy to sound energy

Next is heat or thermal energy.

Examples are
Rice Cooker- from electrical energy to heat
energy
Iron- from electrical energy to heat energy.
Yes Sir!
Light energy, this can produce through
electromagnetic waves. Examples of this are:

Candle- from chemical energy to heat energy to

light energy
Light bulb- from electrical energy to light energy

And the electrical energy. Examples of this are

Solar panel- from light energy to electrical

energy
Generator- from chemical energy to mechanical
energy to electrical energy.

Energy conservation means reducing the

consumption of energy by producing or using
less of it. It is a big part of sustainability and
sustainable development.

Can you give me examples of energy

conservation that you know.

Very good!
Turn off the lights when not in use
What else?

Very good!

D. Generalization Unplugging devices or appliances when not

actively being used.
Direction: Write the energy transformation that
happens on the different items on the visual aid.

1. Burning Woods

Chemical ________ ____________

2. Radio

Electrical ________ ____________

3. Television

Electrical ________ ____________

4. Electric fan
Electrical ________ ____________

5. Solar Panel

Light ________

E. Application

Draw or create a concept map or a mind map to

represent transformation of energy.

F. Evaluation

Direction: On a ¼ sheet of paper, write Fact if

the statement is Correct and write bluff if it is
wrong. Write your answers only.

FACT 1. Sound is an energy that is transported

and produced by vibrations.
BLUFF 2. Energy cannot be transformed.
BLUFF 3. Energy can only be seen through
electricity.
FACT 4. Electricity or electrical energy is
produced when electrons of an atom move to
another.
FACT 5. Heat energy or thermal energy is
produced through continuous movement of
molecules.
