Motivation:
Show different pictures of what you do every morning. Let the
pupils describe each.

B. During Reading Read the short story:


(30 minutes) Preliminary Questions:

A TRIP TO THE ZOO


Arlene walks to the zoo. She sees some crazy things!

Activity 2: VERB CHARADES


Player will pick one verb card and act it out for his classmates to guess. Pupil
who guesses the word correctly will be the next to act it out.

Activity 3: VERB GARDEN


Using colorful construction paper, green paper stems, markers or
crayons, scissors, and glue, let the pupils draw colored petals, green
leaves, and a circle. Glue the petals to the circle and attach the stem and
leaves to it. When the glue dries, they can now write a VERBS in the
flower center. On each petal, pupil writes a different action verb they
can think of.
