DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN MATHEMATICS 2

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson pupils should be able to:
a. identify objects with flat and curve surface;
b. provide examples of objects with flat and curve surface; and
c. determine the difference flat and curve surface.
II. Subject Matter
Topic: Identifying Flat and Curve Surfaces in a 3 Dimensional Objects.
References: K to 12 Curriculum Guide Mathematics 2
Materials: PowerPoint Presentation, Tarpapel, Laptop, Chalk
III. Learning Procedure
Teacher’s Activity Pupil’s Activity
A. Preliminary Activities
1. Prayer
Before we start our class for today, May I In the name of the father of the Son and of

chairs and arrange your seats.
You may now take all your seats.
3. Checking of Attendance
Is anyone absent for today? - None, Ma’am
Very good Perfect Attendance!

4. Collecting of Assignment
Did I give you an assignment? - Yes, Ma’am.
Kindly, pass it forward.

5. Setting of Class Standards

Okay before we proceed to our discussion
what will you do if the class is going on? - Keep quiet and sit properly.
- Raise your right hand if you want
to answer.
- Listen carefully and keep quiet.
- Do not talk with your seatmates.
That’s right!
Okay very good! It seems like everybody of
you knows our class standards. Can I expect
that from you class?
Okay very good. - Yes, Ma’am.

B. Review of the Past Lesson

Before we start our lesson, let’s review our
lesson yesterday.

So, what is our topic yesterday? Anyone?

- Our topic yesterday was all about
identifying straight and curved
Very good, now let us see if you can now lines in a 3 dimensional objects.
identify straigth and curved lines in the given
objects.
Directions: Identify the following objects
whether it contains straight or cuved lines.

1. 1. Curved

2.
2. Straight

3.
3. Curved

4. 4. Straight

5. 5. Straight

Very good pupils. I know that you already

mastered our topic last meeting. Are there any
questions and clarifications?
Okay now let's proceed.
- None, Ma’am.
C. Motivation
Picture Analysis
Directions: Look at the given objects and
observed its surfaces.

1. 2.

What can you have you notices about the

pictures?
- The first picture has curved
Very good, how about the 2nd picture? surface.

Excellent, these pictures have something to do - The second picture has flat
with our topic for today. What do you think is surface.
our topic for today?

Very good, today we will be going to discuss - Our topic for today is all about flat
about Identifying flat and curved surfaces in a and curved surface.
3 Dimensional Objects
D. Lesson Proper
But before that here’s our learning objectives:
At the end of the lesson pupils should be
able to:
a. identify objects with flat and curve
surface;
b. provide examples of objects with flat
and curve surface; and
c. determine the difference flat and curve
surface.
What is Flat Surface?
- Flat surface is called plane surfaces.
- The objects having plane surfaces are
called plane objects. The surfaces of
book, match box and boxes are the
examples of plane surfaces.
Here are some examples of 3D objects with
Flat surfaces:

What is Curved Surface?

- Are surfaces which are not flat.
- The surface of a Ball, or an apple, or
an orange is curved or is a spherical
surface.
Here are some examples of 3D objects with
curved surfaces:

Examples of 3D Shapes
Now let’s try to identify the surfaces of
objects below.
Directions: Write SL if the picture represents
Straight Line and otherwise CL if it the
pictures shows curved lines.
Please get 1 whole sheet of paper.

1. 2.

3. 4. 5.
Are you done class?
Let’s check your work. Exchange your work
with your seatmate.
Who got perfect?

Did you clearly understand class? - All of the pupils got the perfect
score.
Are there any questions and clarifications? - Yes, ma’am.

- None, Ma’am.
E. Application
Now we will be going to have group activity. I
will divide the class into 3. And you are given
only 5 minutes to finish your tasks. And for
you to be well guide here is our rubrics.

Are you ready for our quiz? - Yes, Ma’am.
IV. Evaluation
Directions: Write FS if the object is having Flat Surface otherwise CS if it is Curved
Surface.
