I. Expanding Vocabulary
1. Silly- foolish.
 It was a foolish thing to say.
2. Reconcile- settle
 A friend of the pair commented that they were going to try to settle, but were unsure of
the outcome.
3. Stubborn- unreasonable
 It was an unreasonable request, and yet his response angered her.
4. Muttered- whisper
 His whisper turned to a roar.
5. Deities- a god
 In my religion, we worship only one God.

II. Exploring the Text


1. Who are the characters in the story?
 Malakas, Maganda, Kaptan, Maguayen and Pamulak Manobo
2. What started the conflict between Kaptan and Maguayen?
 It started when they don’t agree to what the earth could be.
3. Who is Pamulak Manobo? How did he intervence in the fight?
 Pamulak Manobo is the great God. He tried to reconcile the two deities but they are
stubborn, that’s why Pamulak Manobo got angry and scolded the two deities.
4. How did Kaptan forget Maguayen? Did his planting give another meaning to his life? Explain.
 Kaptan has an idea,to divert his attention and forget about Maguayen who left him, he
picked some seeds and some tubers, he came down to the earth and planted it. And every
day, Kaptan watched his garden and he take care of it. He sent rain in for the plants in
morning and the soon the seeds and tubers grew.
III. Enriching Insights
1. If I would be Maguayen and had a fight or argument between me and Kaptan, I will reconcile
with him like I always do with my boyfriend. If we had a fight, we always find reasons to
reconcile and not ruing our relationship just because of simple arguments that just happened.
2. yes, I would consider his as peace-builder or a peacemaker, because we all know that he tried
to reconcile Kaptan and Maguayen but he did not succeed because Maguayen and Kaptan is
stubborn.
3. I think it’s a big arguments that they’ve never go through and because of that they don’t know
how to handle it. But if I were in the state of the arguments, it is okay if they’d talk about it and
find reasons why they need to reconcile again. Because we all know that marriage is everything.
4. I guess planting trees and no to deforestation and love the nature as possible as it is.

The teaching will group his/her students and they will do role playing about the story.

” the teaching will right some questions on the boar and the students will answer it to their paper.
