A Semi Detailed Lesson Plan in MAPEH

I. Learning Objectives
At the end of the lesson the students are expected to:
a. Identify the different types of activities that will improve your physical fitness
components.
b. Follow the steps when doing stretching.
c. Perform different kinds of stretches.

II. Subject Matter


Topic: Enhancement activities that will improve your physical fitness components
Teaching Materials: Laptop, Projector, White Screen and Black Board.
References: HONORING YOUR SKILLS THROUGH MAPEH (pages 239-240)

III. Procedure
A. Preliminary Activities/Daily Routine:

B. Review
Review the past lesson. Ask the students about that.

C. Motivation
Picture Analysis: The teacher will show different kinds of pictures and the students need
to guess the correct answer for each picture.

D. Presentation of the Lesson


The teacher will discuss the different kinds of basic stretching.

Discussion:

1. HIP STRETCH
- Lie on your back. Relax and straighten both legs. Pull knees, one at a time toward your
chest.

2. SHOULDER STRETCH
- Lean against the wall or something for support at about your shoulder level. Keep
your arms straight while moving your chest downwards.
3. CALF STRETCH
- Stand close to a wall for support and lean towards it. Keep one of your legs slightly bent
and the other is extended as you lean forward. Keep the heel of the extended leg on the
ground, as you move your hips forward until you feel the stretch in your calf muscle.

4. HAMSTRING STRETCH
(STANDING)
- Keep your knees slightly bent while you bend slowly from the hips. Bend until you feel a
stretch in the back of your legs.

5. HAMSTRING STRETCH
(SITTING)
- Sit on the floor. Bend from leg slightly while keeping the other foot next to the inside of
the leg. Bend forward until you feel a slight tension.

6. GROIN STRETCH
- Sit with the soles of the feet together. Hold onto the feet and pull yourself forward.

E. Generalization
The students learned that stretching is important in order to maintain the flexibility of our
joints. And those kinds of stretch are:

1. Hip Stretch
2. Shoulder Stretch
3. Calf Stretch
4. Hamstring Stretch (Standing)
5. Hamstring Stretch (Sitting)
6. Groin Stretch

F. Application
1. The teacher will call someone in front to do some stretches that they have discussed.
