I. CONTEXT AND RATIONALE

During the pandemic we always state during the flag-raising ceremony the

DepEd mission and one of the lines clearly state that students must “learn in a child-

friendly, gender-sensitive, safe and motivating environment. In the Daanbantayan

National High School, where that we maintained academic excellence and athletic

excellence as well so we can target the holistic development of the student.

During the pandemic most of the school activities including were halted as due

to obvious reasons of health risks. The country itself implemented modular and remote

learning to students. Usual activities like Physical Education activities, Sports activities

and any other extracurricular activities where stopped due to inaccessibility to the

school due to the pandemic. And as a result of the 2-year school absence from actual

learning environments, the students’ mental health is directly affected. In that 2 years

without socializing and competing, students mental capacity to be competitive, to

practice camaraderie, and to be physically fit.

II. ACTION RESEARCH QUESTIONS:

This action research aims to revive the sport and the rest of all extra-curricular

activities of the school. The recipients of this study are the 3750 learners, 110+

teachers, parents, and stakeholders of Daanbantayan National High School,

Daanbayatan District I, Daanbantayan, Cebu for school year 2022-2023 and onwards

Specifically, it answers the following questions:

1. What is the current situation of the school grounds of the school?


2. Have the school have erected modernized grounds ample for sports and other

school activities like the school graduation, intramurals, extra-curricular activities?

3. Based on the present status, what innovation can be designed to rectify the

problem?

4. How is the innovation design be implemented?

5. What resources are needed to complete the innovation?

6. What is the result of its implementation during Phase I?
