ASSIGNMENT #1 IN SCIENCE

What is Physics?
It is the branch of science concerned with the
nature and properties of matter and energy. The
subject matter of physics, distinguished from that
of chemistry and biology, includes mechanics, heat,
light and other radiation, sound, electricity,
magnetism, and the structure of atoms.
1
Differentiate Uniform Motion from
Uniformly Accelerated Motion
Uniform motion is when an object moves with

2
a constant velocity (i.e., constant speed and
direction), while uniformly accelerated motion
is when an object moves with a constant
acceleration.

Example Scenarios of Uniform Motion and

Uniformly Accelerated Motion
Uniform Motion - A Car moving with constant velocity, A
Boy running in a straight path with constant speed, And An
Aeroplane travelling at a constant speed at altitude.
Uniformly Accelerated Motion - The motion of a freely falling
body and a vertically thrown up body, A lift going up or
down with uniformly increasing velocity, A Ball rolling down a
slope.
