2. Appreciate the importance of celebrating the Religous and Non- Religioius festival
dances and;
3. Perform one religious and non-religious Festival dance in Visayas Island.

As you observed earlier I let you picked - Yes sir!

you to go to your respective area quietly
and form a circle but please lift all the
chairs while you are moving it to avoid
any disturbing noises. So as I count from
1 to 10 move to your respective area.

- Sinulog Festival- The famous Sinulog

in Visayas island celebrating the
Religious Festival.
1. Sinulog Festival.
festival in Cebu City is held every year
on the third Sunday of January.
- Sinulog festival is a celebration of
thanksgiving to their patron saint SR.

- The festival is characterized by a very
long parade with many groups of people
dressed in colourful costumes, finding
their way through the streets while
dancing the Sinulog.

festival celebrated in Visayas Island.
2. Dinagsa Festival.

- Dinagsa festival paying homeage to the
Sto. Nino de Cadiz.
- The choices was inspired by unique
event- the lamding of 12 whales on
Cadiz shores im 1967.
- Dinagsa is came from the root word
DAGSA in Hiligaynon means coming
together.
- Dinagsa Fstival celebrated annually on
the last week of January.
- Highlights of the Dinagsa festival is the
LAMHITANAY SA DINAGSA.

- 1. PANAAD SA NEGROS.
- Thank you so much. That is the Panaad
festival. It is considered as the mother of
all festival in Negros Occidental it’s
because showcases diverse
culture,arts,craft and products of the 13
cities and 19 municipalities in Negros
Occidental.

and jive of Panaad sa Negros. And for
those who didnt experience the Panaad sa

PANAAD a Hiligaynon language that
means a Vow or promise.
- It was organized and established by the
provincian government of Negros
Occidental on May 1993.
- It is considered as th “Mother of all
Festivals” un Negros Occidental.
- It is celebrated every month of April at
Panaad Park and
- ( some of the Students raise their hands)
- -Masskara Festival- Masskara Festival is
an annual festival with highlights held
every fourth Sunday of October in
Bacolod, Philippines.
- Sir Masskara Festival is held every 4th
Sunday of October in Bacolod City.
- Masskara came from the spanish word
Mascara means mask and Cara means
face.
- The mask motif of the festival has
changed from masks influenced by
 native Filipinos to those influenced by
- And that is the Panaad sa Negros. Now the Carnival of Venice and Rio Carnival.

Island that is celebrating The Non-
Religious Festival.

2. MASSKARA FESTIVAL

- I know that some of you here are very

familiar with this festival. It is very famous
not just here in our province but also in the
whole country and also internationally.
And masskara festival symbolizes the
People here in Negros occidental of their
being Resilient. That people in Bacolod as
well as in the whole Negros Occidental
Chooses to be happy despite of bad
situations.
- And here are some clips for you to just
watch how colorful and grandiose Bacolod
Masskara is.
- Sinigayan Festival- Sagay gets its
name from sigay, a brilliant, univalve
shelled mollusk that was once
abundant on the city's sandy shores.
- It is Celebrated annually in the
19th day of March.
- a convivial celebration of the
Sagaynon heritage by the gentle, joyful
and hardworking people of Sagay.

in Sagay City. And the Sinigayan Festival considered
as Non-Religous Festival since it is a celebration of
