Question 1
The unacceptable moral of the management of health and safety at the nursery are as
follows:
1-The nursery did not adhere to moral standards, resulting in the apprentice being left
alone. When the children are transported outside the law demands that two staff
members remain in the gardening area
2- The ladder which are loose and show signs of wear should have been removed from
the garden B or repair but this suggested lack of duty of care and maintenance from the
nursery.
3-They have been a request for a new climbing frame for over a year but the previous
owner kept refusing the request, demonstrating a lack of employee engagement and
consultation in the management of health and safety.
4- Lack of relevant information- Proper information was not giving to the apprentice prior
to the accident that would have prevented him from using the damaged ladder.

associated with accident and injuries.

to start of work could have help to prevent the accident.

accident on their first day of work was not properly informed about the rules and
regulations regarding the presence of two workers in the garden area. This indicates a

practices.
3-Insufficient staffing levels: The fact that the nursery was understaffed on the day of the
accident suggests that there may be a recurring issue with staffing levels. Insufficient

4-Lack of communication and consultation: The DM mentioned that they were not aware
