 Only trained and experienced personnel will use power tools
 When changing of cutting and grinding disc ensure grinders is
unplugged or disconnected to the power source
 Angle grinding machine having dead man switch
 Must have a standby fire extinguisher

 Do not use cylinders as rollers.  HSER


 Do not lift gas cylinders with slings or by the cap or collar/valve.
 Provide proper signage in storage area.
 Conduct daily pre-use inspection of hoses, regulators, cutting
outfit and gas cylinders prior to start of work
 Isolate hot work is by installing barricades and signs
 Before connecting regulators to cylinder, carefully open valve
cylinder to blow out any foreign particles
 Connect regulator and stand on one side of the gauge while the
cylinder valve is slowly opened
 Do not exceed 15psi on the torch side of the gauge when using
acetylene.
 Hose clamps (crimping) shall be use on connections tie wire is
not allowed
 Replace damaged hose immediately, splicing is not permitted.
 Fire extinguisher made available in case of fire. Ensure fire
extinguishers are inspected
 Barricades and signs provided where necessary.
 Friction lighter shall be ready for lighting of torch.
 Use correct PPE such as flame-resistant coverall, welding gloves,
full face shield, mask, dark safety glasses, safety shoes and other
required PPE
 All combustible materials shall be removed from the hot work
area.
 Fire blankets shall be use to secure hot work area and contain
sparks and slags to prevent contact with personnel
 Flashback arrestors properly fitted at regulator end of the hoses
and a check valve at the torch end of the hoses on all fuel gas
and oxygen cylinders.
 Do not use damaged hoses and regulators.
 Hose free from oil and grease.
 Hoses shall be kept away from molten material.
 Keep hoses away from sharps edges.
 All cylinder valves must be kept close when not in use or when
left unattended.
 Regulator key shall be available for use in case of emergency.

 Secure hot work area with fire blankets and have a standby fire
extinguisher.
 Assign a trained fire watcher who will monitor the hot work
activity and stay at least 30mins after work completion
 Welding shall not be done in wet area.
 Ensure no flammable materials or liquids are present or near the
vicinity.
 Ensure during welding working platform covered with fire
blanket
 Fire watcher should monitor hot work location
 Always keep access ways free of loose materials, tools and
equipment.
 Maintain good housekeeping and proper material management.

05 Emergency procedure  Personal injury  Any accident/emergencies shall be reported to ENCO first aider  Site manager
 Traffic accident &site supervisor. ENCO HSE Advisor will take control of situation  Site Supervisor
 Gas release from and report to SAIPEM HSSE within 30 minute or less  Foreman
neighbour plant  Initial written notification of accident, incident or Near miss to  First Aider/Nurse

 All personal to be aware of possible gas leaks from neighbour
plant and be ready to immediately evacuate the job location to a
safe muster point
 Supervisor /Forman to immediately request all their people to
move to a safe muster point I case of gas smell coming from
neighbour plants and or in case of activated emergency sirens.
 All personnel will be instruct on procedure to take and system of
contact (ENCO/SAIPEM) should an incident occurs
 Supervisors to include in the STARRT activity information about
nearest muster point, wind socks, cross wind evacuation system ,
emergency route, etc..
 Reporting of all incidents shall be informed in daily STARRT
meeting
 Supervisor/Engineers in charge are responsible for leading HSE
and compliances by workforce.
 Trained first aider to be provided
 Ensure availability of emergency vehicle
 Emergency drill planned to be conducted in working area
 Emergency preparedness: in case of emergency alarm assemble
in the nearest assembly point.
 In case of incident emergency contact: SAIPEM Emergency No-

06 Housekeeping /Site cleanness  Slip/trip/ and fall  All possible due diligence to be exercised to ensure zero slips,  Site manager

to maintain in good condition.
