Materials and tools you will need:

yellow, red, black, grey, white and brown color yarn;

 piece of thick cardboard or plastic for the insoles;

Abbreviations:

I used acrylic yarn (50g/160m) and 1,75 mm hook (I crochet very tight); the
finished size of minion is approximately 15, 16 and 12 cm tall. Work in continuous
spiral unless otherwise stated. I recommend using a marker for each round/row
(for example color thread).

 Small Cossack
Head and body
With red color yarn. You will work from bottom to top, the beginning will be at the side.

• As I already mentioned, the beginning of round is at the

side, so there will be no visible color changes (they will be
under the arm). Count off 12 sts from the beginning of round
and join white color yarn, work: ch 1, 1 hdc, 4 sc, 4 hdc, 30 dc,
4 hdc, 4 sc, 1 hdc (now you have kind of „décolleté”). Secure
thread, fasten off and weave in ends.

 Legs (make 2)
With black color yarn. You will work around the foundation chain in spiral.
Ch 8, beginning from 2nd ch from hook:
1 Rnd: 6 sc, 3 sc in last ch, turn and work on the opposite side: 5 sc, inc (16)
2 Rnd: inc, 5 sc, (inc) x3, 5 sc, (inc) x2 (22)
3 Rnd: scblp 22 sc
Now you need to trace around the sole and cut the form out of a piece of thick cardboard
or plastic to get an insole.

Eyes-spectacles
Spectacles (make 2)
With grey color yarn
Ch 2, beginning from 2nd ch from hook:
1 Rnd: 6 sc

3 Rnd: (1 sc, inc) х6 (18), sl st
4 Rnd: scblp ch 1, 18 sc, sl st (try to
work this round tightly)

 Secure thread, fasten off and weave in ends.
Leave long end from the second spectacle to sew both spectacles together. Cut out
circles out of some white felt, put some glue on and place them into the spectacles. Find
the nice position you like most and glue on black half pearls.

Strap
With black color yarn
Ch 53, beginning in 3rd ch from hook:
1 Row: 51 dc
Secure thread, fasten off, leaving long tail for sewing.

Assembling the small Cossack

Orient yourself on the picture. Sew or glue on the spectacles strap (there might be some
space between the edges, which will be covered with spectacles later). Embroider the
mouth with black thread. Sew legs and arms to body. Sew or glue on the spectacles.
Now you can start with the fringe and moustache. I used felting wool. For that take a
small segment of felting wool and attach it to the crown of the head. For the arranging I
used hair mousse. Apply some mousse on the fringe, let it dry.
For the moustache take a segment of felting wool, put some mousse on (except in the
middle), wrap it around a pencil (see picture below), let it dry. Then use a felting needle

and attach the moustache under the spectacles (or glue it). And your small Cossack is
ready!

I sewed the front edges of camisole with two simple sts.
Now work 3 foundation chains with brown color yarn – ch 7, beginning from 2nd ch from
hook: 6 sc – and sew them on to camisole. Secure thread, fasten off and weave in ends.

Legs (make 2)
With black color yarn. You will work around the foundation chain in spiral.
Ch 8, beginning from 2nd ch from hook:

 Assembling the tall Cossack
Sew arms and legs to body. Sew or glue on the spectacle strap, then attach the
spectacle onto it. Embroider the mouth. Sew hat onto head.
Now you can start with the fringe and moustache. Take a segment of felting wool that is
double as long as the fringe. Attach the wool at the side directly under the hat (see
picture below). Use mousse for the finished look.
For the moustache take a segment of felting wool of desired length, use mousse again to
give it the right shape and then attach to head.
And you’re done with this one 

Assembling the muscle minion
Sew arms and legs to body. Sew or glue the spectacle strap onto head, then attach the
spectacles. Embroider the mouth (orient yourself on the pictures).
For the haircut take thin segments of felting wool and attach them on the last 3-4
rounds of the crown of the head. Then comb the result and cut a straight line around. In

the middle of the crown leave a small segment and cut it short, so it stands up like in
the picture.
For the moustache take a segment of felting wool and attach it with felting needle in the
middle, giving it the desired shape.
And if you like the haircut and moustache you can also use hair spray to fix it all.
