(Students Praying)
“Ask students to lead the prayer” - Father God,
As we start this new day for new learning, we
ask for Your guidance.
Lead us all the way. May You let us see through
Your eyes, listen through Your ears, and speak
with Your Mouth.
Be with us as we explore the world.
Give us the heart to love and be kind to one
another. Please watch over all our teachers,
children, and families.
In Jesus’ name. Amen

- Amen

b. Greeting
- Good morning, Sir
Good morning class

How are you today? - Great!

c. Cleanliness

Before we proceed in checking your attendance, can

you please check and pick up if there’s any piece of
paper or plastics under your chair.”
- (Do exactly what is said.)
We must always encourage cleanliness in order to
avoid distractions while discussing. - (Observed cleanliness)
d. Monitoring of Attendance

Let’s proceed in checking your attendance, I will say - Yes, Sir!

your name and if you’re here, say PRESENT

B. Reviewing or Presenting the new lesson

TEACHER ACTIVITY STUDENT ACTIVITY
Before we proceed to our new lesson. Lets have a
short review about our past lesson .
Can you tell me what was our last lesson all about
was?
- (The students raise their hands to answer)
Yes Vincent
- Levels of Biological organization
Very good

Who knows the correct order of the levels of

biological organization? - (The students raise their hands to answer)

Yes angel? - Cells, tissue, organ, organ system, organism

Very good!

C. Establishing the purpose for the lesson

As for our initial activity for today lets have a brain
boom drill. All you must do is to guess the right
word being portrayed in the illustration.

Are you ready? - Yes Sir

Okay, let’s do this.

-Animal Cell

- Plant cell

- Difference

D. Presenting examples/instances for the new lesson

Activity 1.Baamboozle
Alright. As of this moment, we’ll having an
interactive game generated by Baamboozle. In this
game, we will be having two groups: Group 1 and 2.
For the mechanics of this activity. Each of the group
will pick a representative and choose a number from
a provided boxes then answer what’s the functions
of the given pictures and illustration. Remember if
you choose a power up box its either you will get
additional point or you can lose your points. So, be
the lucky one.

Is that clear class? Are you ready? - Yes Sir

- It lets people in and out of the room.

- It protects what is inside the room.

- Its food storage.

- It caters all the people around it.

- They serve as the organizer by serving food!

- Packages the food that the costumer wants to

take out Sir/Ma’am.

- That’s the chef, the one who cooks food.

- That’s still a chef but they are many, they

convert the ingredients to a ready to eat food

- That’s a janitor, it cleans the establishment.

Okay, where do you think can we find them?
Who can guess? - At a restaurant Sir/Ma’am.

This pictures the chefs the waiter and the waitresses,

the refrigerator, the take out box, door, wall, is what
comprises the restaurant.
That’s their basic structural and functional unit.

We also humans have our basic structural and

functional unit. Can you tell me what it is? - The cell sir!

That’s right! Today we are going to explore about

the plant and animal cell.
E. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills #1

Activity 2: Build me up!

Okay class, I want you to count 1-2 for the
groupings. - (The students count from 1-2)

Alright, those number 1 go to the left side and those

who belong to number 2 go to the right side. At the
count of 5 everyone should be in their designated
area. This activity should be done in 4 min. - (The students are following instructions)
I have here the two types of cells, but the problem is,
it is in a puzzle form. As fast as you can, solve the
puzzle to form the cell. First to complete the puzzle
will receive a prize. (Each group will receive an
envelope with the puzzled pieces of the cell). - (After two minutes, it’s time to check the
output).

GROUP 1 GROUP 2
Good job everyone! Now, group 1, what type of cell
is formed and what is its shape? - Animal Cell and it is somewhat round in
Great! Now, group 2, what type of cell is formed and shape Sir
what is its shape?
Great! Now that you can already distinguished the
plant cell from animal cell through its shape, it’s - Plant Cell and it is a rectangular in form sir
time to learn more!
(Integration of Animation Video)I have here a video
that discusses the parts of the plant and animal cell.
Please watch carefully to the animation. Are you
ready?

(https://youtu.be/9W7sBBrQnQI) Introduction to - Yes Sir

Cells - Plant and Animal cells

Okay That’s it.

Activity 3: I Want a Label on This!In the same two

groups, we will be having another activity in which
we are going to label the parts of the plant cell and
animal cell. (Gives the materials for the activity).
Okay, can someone read the objectives of our
activity? - Objectives: After doing this activity, you
should be able to:
Identify parts of the plant and animal cell

- Yes Sir
Are the instructions clear?
Also, be participative in doing the activity.
Remember, this activity is good for four minutes - Yes Sir
only. Okay?
(After 4 minutes) - (students report their works)

Okay, let’s check if your answers are correct.(checks

the activity)
Very well done class! Since you are already equipped
with the knowledge of the structure and parts of the
plant and animal cell, let’s learn further!
F. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills #2

(Integration of PPT and Picture as a visual

presentation, YouTube as a supplemental)

Since, we already know the structure and parts of

the plant and animal cells, let us now keep our
digging our knowledge a little further. I have here a
video in which it talks about the difference of the
organelles of plant and animal cells.
(https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ApvxVtBJxdo) - (watches the video presentation)
PLANT VS ANIMALS

We will have a group activity.

All group leaders will get the designated envelope
for your group. Inside the envelopes are different
task you need to accomplish for 10 minutes only.

Was the instructions clear?

- Yes Sir!
Okay your time starts now!

The two picture puzzle shows plants and

All groups will do their assigned task. animal cell

Okay your time is up!

May I call the representative of your group, each
group have 3 minutes to discuss their work.

Okay group 1 present your work.

animal cell lysosomes is present.
GROUP3
Question:
What is the importance of studying
plants and animal cell?

Answer:
To know where animals and plants came
from.

Very good!
What about the group 3

- (student points out the nucleus)

- (student points out the cell membrane)

Now, let’s take a look at this illustration.(shows a

picture of animal and plant cell) Both cells have
almost the same parts but they have differences.
Now, let’s take a look at these two cells
- (student points out the cell wall)
There are three components of a cell, the cytoplasm,
the nucleus and the cell membrane. Let’s look at
first the nucleus. It is found in the center of the cell. - No Sir, we can only find this on the plant cell.
Can someone point out where is the nucleus?

Almost all of the activities of the cell are directed by - (student points out the cytoplasm)
the nucleus. Now, let’s go the cell membrane, it is
the outer layer of the animal cell, it encloses other
organelles.

Can someone point out where is the cell membrane

is?
- (student points out the mitochondria)
Okay, now, let’s go to the cell wall. It is found just
outside of the cell membrane. - It is a large network of tubes and is like maze
or folds
Can someone point out where is the cell wall?
- The smooth and rough endoplasmic
Okay class, Very good reticulum.
Can we find this in both cells?
- The ribosomes make it rough.
Great job! Okay, now let’s go to the cytoplasm. It is
where the other organelles are suspended. - Ribosomes are circular in shape and are
Can someone point out where is the cytoplasm? either free or attached to the endoplasmic
reticulum.

Now the mitochondria is one of the organelles that

is found in the cytoplasm, it is an oval shaped
organelle and is surrounded by a double membrane.
Where is mitochondria in the cell? - (students points out the Golgi apparatus

How about the endoplasmic reticulum?

There are two types of endoplasmic reticulum, what

are they? - (student points out the vacuoles)

What makes it rough?

What is a ribosome then? - (student points out chloroplast)

- Chloroplast can be found only in plant cell.

Okay. This one’s here is the lysosome they break

down the waste products and detoxify the cell.

The Golgi apparatus are like flattened stacks of sacs,

where is the Golgi apparatus in the illustration?

The vacuoles on the other hand are organelles for

storage. It is easily seen in plant cell because they
have large vacuoles. Can someone point out the
vacuoles?

Chloroplast is an elongated or disc-shaped

organelle, can someone point out chloroplast?
Where can we find them?

Why are there several chloroplast in the cell?

Since you know all the parts and function of plants
and animal cells.

G. Developing Mastery

of Animal cell.
2.Explain your output to the class.

All groups will perform the given task and explain

their work to the class.

It seems that you really understand our lesson.

I. Making generalizations and abstractions about the lesson

Again, the difference between the plant and animal

cell is that plant cell is fixed an rectangular while
animal cell is round and irregular. Also, plants have
chloroplast, cell and large vacuoles while animals
don’t.
Are there any questions and clarifications? - No Sir
