Learning Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students must be able to:
a.) Describe the Philippine Physical Activity Pyramid;
b.) Assess participation in physical activities based on the Philippine Physical Activity Pyramid;
c.) (For students with Special Needs) Illustrate the Philippine Physical Activity Pyramid.
d.) (For students with Special Needs) Cite the different 4 levels of Physical Activity Pyramid and its
examples.
Materials
Laptop, white board, white board marker, tv
Procedure
Introduction:
The teacher will begin with a short prayer which will be led by a student.
Display an image that shows the different types of activities. (for example: watching tv, playing,
cooking, etc.)
Engage:
Begin by asking them a question
“What are the activities you perform in your everyday life?”
“Does these activities have a beneficial effect for my physical health?"
Explore:
Ask the students to plot their weekly physical activities by drawing a table on their one-half sheet of
paper.

Explain: Discuss physical fitness and its factors that affects it. (e.g., age, gender, disability, etc.)
Introduce and briefly describe the concept of frequency and the different levels of The Philippine Physical
Activity Pyramid.
` Activity: The teacher will provide four lanes: 1st Lane - Play Outside, 2nd Lane – Exercises for Strength
and Flexibility, 3rd Lane – Sitting for more than 30mins, 4th Lane – Aerobic Exercises.
The learners will choose their own lane according to the activities they performs the most. Each lane will
choose an activity and it must be aligned to their chosen lane; the learners will do a skit where they each
demonstrates their chosen physical activity.
Cite the 4 levels of the Philippine Physical Activity Pyramid and provide examples of each levels.
