Teaching Mathematics in Elementary should have enough time for a teacher and
pupils to work on Mathematical problem and computational exercises. Math learning
areas requires a lot of patience to find the solutions and answers to a problem.
Mathematics teacher must have an idea on how they can teach easily to pupils solving
numbers problem, especially nowadays learners need more attention due to the two
years of quarantine because of the pandemic.
Another accomplishment that we had this year was the conduct of MTAP Six
Saturdays classes held at Bagumbayan Elementary School, Santa Cruz, Laguna where
65 learners of Oogong E.S. from Grades One to Six participated. The said program
aimed the following; awaken greater interest in Mathematics among elementary
learners, encourage learners to strive for excellence in Mathematics, discover
mathematical talents among the learners and most especially is to put in the learners’
mind that Mathematics is not a difficult subject but an enjoyable one.
On the other hand, consolidation of test results every quarter was one of the
accomplishments in Mathematics. This year 3 rd and 4th Quarter of School Year 2022-
2023 and 1st Quarter of School Year 2023-2024 were the test results consolidated. It is
very much important to do because it tells the performance of learners on the particular
learning areas. It also determine the actions to do by the teachers once the results is
not good.
Meanwhile, the SCEMEA had three meetings this year where the mathematics
coordinator attended. The first meeting was an online meeting held on October 17,
followed by Face to Face meeting on October 17 and lastly was on November 21. The
meetings were all about MTAP Saturday Classes.
And on Last March 14, teachers celebrated Mathematics month which in lined
with the Division Memo no. 13 s. 2023 and the observance of International Day of
Mathematics. The school participated in a weeklong implementation of classroom-
based activities. We conducted math trivia, math quiz, math trail and coloring
mathematics puzzle. It was conducted by the teachers, supervised by the mathematics
coordinator, Mrs. Nancy M. Tolentino and through the guidance of the school principal,
Mrs. Aimee V. Cambel
Through these activities learners Develop unity and friendship among others.
They learned to be resourceful and use things around to solve math problems and
recalled, analyzed and applied mathematical operations in real world problems.
