If you will release the balloon
from your hand,what will

a. What happen to the balloon as you blow
air into it?

c. What can you say about the shapes of the
balloon ?

Draw 5 balloons with different colors.


Describe their shapes.
Remember:
A gas is another state of matter. It has no
definite shape, thus it takes the shape of the
container. We cannot see them but we can
feel them.

At the end of the lesson, the pupils should


be able to describe the space
occupy by the gases.
Show different illustration af gas containers
Activity:
1. Prepare a drinking glass.
2. Place a paper towel at the bottom of a drinking glass
so that it will not fall out when the glass is inverted.
3. Fill a big bowl with water.
4. Hold the glass upside down and quickly plunge it into
the water.
5. Count one to ten while holding the glass underwater.
6. Slowly lift the glass up and out of the water. Be sure to
hold the glass straight upside down.
7. Observe. What happened to the tissue?
In your notebook, answer the following:
1. What is inside the glass?
2. What happened to the paper towel?
3. What does the activity show?
Remember:
Gas has no definite shape and volume. It
takes the shape and volume of its container.
Assessment
Tell your pupils in group to blow air into
the plastic bag. Add more air into it. What
happen to the plastic bag?
Ask:
What will happen to the plastic bag?
