- intends to educate the audience through
providing information about a particular topic or
subject.

(e.g. A teacher lecturing to the class)

- speaker’s goal is to convince or encourage audiences
to accept a perspective.

(e.g. commercials, politicians during campaign)

3. ) Entertainment
- primary purpose is to captivate attentions and to entertain
audiences.

(e.g. stand up comedy, showbiz awards night)

4.) Argumentative
- aims to radically change opinions that is already held by
others or it is used to destroy an existing idea.

teleprompter

- speech that is committed and delivered entirely from
memory

(e.g. declamation, oration)

- speech that is delivered on the spot with no chance
to prepare or memorize

4.) Extemporaneous Speech


- a speech that is given
without any special
advance preparation and is delivered without the help of notes and
others.

- 3 minutes is the maximum time of preparation
