Effective Home Management
Every member of the family has an important role to play in
effective home management. Sharing one's skills, attitudes, and
knowledge makes the work easier and more effective.

Steps in Effective Home Management

1. Planning - Set up goals. Once the goals have been set, there is now
basis for planning activities.
2. Organizing - This involves the division of work among family
members. Delegation of responsibilities must take
into consideration on skills, knowledge, and
experience.

3. Implementing - This refers to the process of executing


the plans and performing the tasks given

to each member.
4. Evaluating - Assessing the results is an important step in
home management. It helps in understanding
and analyzing the success and failures of the
family effort so that adjustments can be
made.
Household activities should be managed properly to
lessen unnecessary labor and help speed up work and reduce
stress.
1. Identify and analyze each activity. Not everything has to
be done every day. Plan the activities that can be done
daily, weekly, or monthly.

The following is an example on how to plan activities


so as not to overwork the household and allow for other
activities to be included during the day.

1. Skills and interests of family members.

task according to their interests and skills. Rotation of
tasks can be implemented on a weekly or bi-monthly basis.
3. Consider the health, age, and abilities of each member.
4. Assign tasks based on the availability of the members.
5. Coordination among all the family members for the
improvement of family resources to ensure attainment of
all goals.
