Why it is important to know our students
as a teacher?
• Learner-centered classrooms require teachers who know their students
well enough to use the most effective teaching methods for their class.
• In order to establish an effective, productive, learner-centered
classroom, you must know your students - and not just their names.
• By knowing your students, you can come up with creative ways to
motivate them to work.
• Family relationships are also incredibly important at the
elementary level. Getting to know not just your students but
also their families is key for helping them learn. By knowing
your students' families, you can create partnerships so that
the students are supported in learning, even when they are not
in school. By taking the time to maintain these relationships,
your students have a better chance of succeeding and
learning.
A community of learners can be defined
as a group of people who share values
and beliefs and who actively engage in
learning from one another—learners from
teachers, teachers from learners, and
learners from learners.
Harmony Within Oneself And
With Others
• In order to be in harmony with yourself an inner balance
must be established. For this you must feel well and happy.
Many people are not aware that they are not really feeling
well and not really happy. They say that they can’t be
happy if not all wishes are fulfilled. But you must first be
happy, then you can reach your goals and fulfill your
wishes. Another important point is that most people do not
know their true desires. And they do not pursue bigger
goals and wishes, because they can’t imagine that they can
realize bigger goals and wishes. This leads to internal
imbalance.
To be in harmony with yourself you have
to:
• Tune the details of your life to what you want.
• You need to have goals and wishes and they must be yours.
• You must feel good, therefore you must eat good, do sports,
have friends and have some fun in life.
• If something is wrong in one area of your life, there will be
an imbalance and you will feel uncomfortable. Find out what
it is and do something about it.
• Whoever has a clear vision of his life and makes plans to
realize it, is in harmony with himself. He feels much better
than someone who doesn’t have a vision.

• If you know what you like doing, something which is your

passion, make it your profession. Doing the majority of the
day something that fulfills you, gives you a pleasant feeling
of well-being, makes you happy and be in harmony with
yourself.

The Learners and The
Learning Process as it
is related to
Homemaking Education
• The learners are considered as the key
participant in the teaching and learning
process. They are considered as the primary
subject or the main reason why the process
is implemented. The knowledge that
acquired by the learners will decide if the
teaching and learning objectives are
achieved.
In all the teachers training programs at the
global level, the emphasis is on understanding
the learner and its learning process. So the
prospective teachers must know and
understand who is learner and what the
learning process is.

What is Homemaking?
• Home making is way more than just cooking and cleaning.
It’s about making your home a cosy safe haven for your
family. A place decorated in your own personal style, that
your family can bring friends over and be proud of their
home around visitors. It is a place for hobbies and
hospitality. Home making can be a thing of beauty as you
do a pretty garden or make curtains for your windows or
embroider a tablecloth. It’s important to make our homes a
warm cosy place just for the people we love
Homemaking Education
• Its not just learning about the domestic skills, growing food
from your own garden or washing clothes by hand or
knitting blankets. It’s so much more.
