According to Uno (2007), the sense of
motivation is internal and external in
one who is indicated by one's desires
and interests, urges and needs, hopes
and ideals, appreciation, and respect.

Definition Of Intrinsic Motivation
Intrinsic motivation is defined as the doing of an
activity for its inherent satisfaction rather than for some
separable consequence. When intrinsically motivated, a
person is moved to act for the fun or challenge entailed
rather than because of external products, pressures, or
rewards.
5
EXAMPLE FOR INTRINSIC
MOTIVATION
Playing video games to complete mission
6
Type of intrinsic motivation
1. Intrinsic motivation of knowledge
it means someone who wants to do the activity
to explore new ideas to gain a knowledge.

Extrinsic
motivation
8
Definition of extrinsic motivation
Extrinsic motivation is a construct that pertains whenever an activity is
done in order to attain some separable outcome. Extrinsic motivation
thus contrasts with intrinsic motivation, which refers to doing an activity
simply for the enjoyment of the activity itself, rather than its
instrumental value. However, unlike some perspectives that view
extrinsically motivated behavior as invantly nonautonomous, SDT
proposes that extrinsic motivation can vary greatly in the degree to
which it is autonomous

Example for extrinsic motivation

Type of extrinsic motivation
1. Extrinsic motivation of external regulation
External regulation is the only kind of motivation
recognized by operant theorist.

conclusion
Intrinsic motivation is the performance of an action done out of interest
or pleasure, while an extrinsic motivation arises from an external or
social basis for action. Extrinsic motivators like money or other
rewards can produce extrinsic motivation because of the fact that they
generate a desire for the consequences of activities, they produce no
desire to engage in activities for their own interests. When people
engage in activities for extrinsic rewards, their motivation is embedded
in the environment rather than within themselves. Rather, intrinsic
motivation exists in the individual and can be harnessed and
enhanced by the environment that supports individual autonomy and
competence.
