EQUIPMENT’S FOR
CONSTRUCTION
1. EXCAVATOR
A heavy piece of machinery that consists of a hydraulic crane – like boom
with a metal shovel.
• To dig and crush material on a site.
2. BULLDOZER
Also called a dozer, is a staple piece of construction equipment. This is
the most common, most widely known, and the most reliable type of
construction vehicle. A wide, flat blade can be seen in front of bulldozer.
• Used to move dirt along large open tracts of land.
3. TRENCHER

This is the perfect tool for digging. Trenching machine are available in
chain trenchers and wheeled trenchers. They all contain a fixed long arm
with a digging chain.
• The purpose of trencher are for digging, ditches, channels or other
long, narrow holes for things like underground piping and cables.
4. DRUM ROLLER

This machine is typically found at road construction sites.


• The purpose of this is in order to press asphalt, soil and other loose
materials.
5. COMPACTOR
A machine that has valuable asset to road building and other construction
tasks. It comes in many shapes and sizes.
One common type is a Plate Compactor, is a device you push similarly to
a lawnmower.
• The function of the compactor are to compress and reshape a surface
like soil, grovel, or asphalt.
6. DUMP TRUCK
A truck with a large box bed on the back
• Purpose of dump truck is to carry materials to and from a job site or
move materials around the construction site. Some were designed to
navigate rugged terrain.
7. GRADER

Also known as motor grader, an important piece of equipment for road


building. It includes three axles. It usually has six wheels to accommodate
the long frame.
• Essential for creating a plot, even surface before building a road.
8. MIXER
A mixer in construction, is a truck equipped with a large drum that mixes
concrete. There are also mixers that stationary used on a job site. The
drum has a spiral blade on the inside to assist with mixing.
• Use for mixing concretes.
9. MOBILE CRANE

An extremely useful piece of equipment with wheels are track so you can
drive them around a job site. Some mobile crane are able to rotate 360
degrees, making it easier to navigate tight spaces.
• Its function is for lifting and moving objects.
10. PILE DRIVER

A pile driver is an essential piece of equipment. In a typical pile driving


system, a boom extends from a crane. Attached to the boom is a lead, a
frame used to align the pile, along with a hammer and pile.
• Its purpose is to provide vital support for deep foundation.
