What is Digital Citizenship?
It will describe:
● How we should act when using digital tools and interacting with others
online
● How to use technology in an appropriate, responsible, and empowered
way.
● What should be taught to help the next generation use technology.
Why is Digital Citizenship important?
It is important to focus on what it will allow students to do
rather than summarize it as a “set of skills” or “lessons to
teach,” we should consider digital citizenship a
demonstration of responsible and appropriate behavioral
thinking that enables students to express, communicate &
discern truths from false information.

We need to:
● Teach them how to make the best choices online
● Guide them on using technology appropriately
● Make students aware of their digital footprint
● Teaching students the dos and don’ts of posting
content, sharing information,
● Educate on both the benefits and dangers of
interacting with others online.
● Teach them about the benefits that it can bring in
their future.
