BECOMING

ONE
WHEN WE
ARE SO
DIFFERENT
 Every human being is a
unique creation. While
there is much people who
have in common, there are
no 2 of us that are exactly
alike.

In fact, human beings are

often very different from
each other and these
differences tend to pose
barriers to all our close
relationships.
Yes, we differ widely in dispositions,
habits, education that our things of
looking things vary a lot. We judge
differently. Our understanding of truth,
our ideas in regard to the conduct of
life differ. The trials
of 1 are not the trials
of another & the
duties that 1 finds
light, are to another
most difficult &
perplexing. (Gospel
Workers, p.473).
HOW TO BECOME ONE
WHEN WE ARE SO
DIFFERENT?
 1. When our hearts are warmed
with the love of Christ, when we
are in a relationship with Him
first of all, we are better able to
deal with the differences we find
in one another.
HOW TO BECOME ONE WHEN WE ARE SO DIFFERENT?

2.Learn to respect each other’s

characteristics. Each one is
valuable in God’s sight.
Nobody is superior nor inferior.
HOW TO BECOME ONE WHEN WE ARE SO DIFFERENT?
 3. Learn to focus on
one another’s good
qualities.
 4. Seek to build one’s
friendship. Friendship
grows as we are doing
things together,
talking, eating,
playing, cultivating
together our similar
interests & willingly
entering into each
other’s interest.
HOW TO BECOME ONE WHEN WE ARE SO DIFFERENT?

 5. Learn to handle
anger effectively.
Rightly released &
exercised,
controlled by love,
born of sensitive
morals, it is not a
sin (Desire of Ages,
p. 310.)
HOW TO BECOME ONE WHEN WE ARE SO DIFFERENT?

 6. Learn to forgive
one another.
Forgiveness is
bearing the
suffering of
another’s wrong
and letting the
wrongdoer go free
from our retaliation
or grudge holding.
AFFIRMATION CONQUERS
DIFFERENCES
 According to Glenn
Coon, affirmation does
not only conquer
differences but also
restores marriage.
 Story: A woman who
came to her doctor asking
how she might hurt her
husband who was in her
eyes so different, so
unloving, etc..
