Present Perfect Continuous

I have been watching this trick all this time. – Я дивилася на
цей трюк весь цей час.

She has been waiting for you for half an hour. – Вона чекала
(чекає) на тебе з півгодини.

We’ve been talking about our wedding. – Ми розмовляли

(розмовляємо) про наше весілля.
Ми використовуємо The Present Perfect:

1. Коли ми говоримо про дію, яка розпочалася в минулому і яка триває досі. Наприклад,

a) He has taught Spanish for 10 years. - Він викладає іспанську протягом 10-ти років. ( Він почав викладати 10
років назад і ще досі продовжує це робити).
b) They have lived in London since 2014. - Вони живуть в Лондоні з 2014. ( Тобто вони переїхали в Лондон в
2014 і досі там живуть).
2. Коли ми розповідаємо про наш досвід. Наприклад,

a) I have eaten Chinese food. -Я їла китайську їжу. ( Тобто в мене є досвід цього, я знаю яка вона на смак).
b) She has been to New York. - Вона була в Нью Йорку. ( Вона має досвід перебування там).

3. А також цей час нам необхідний коли ми говоримо про дію, яка була і завершилася в минулому, але
результат цієї дії ми маємо зараз ( в теперішньому). Наприклад,

a) John has drunk too much wine. - Джон випив забагато вина.( тобто він вже випив те вино і більше немає,
що пити, отже дія-завершена, але цей час показує, що є результат зараз, тобто Джон-п’яний на даний
момент).
b) Mary has eaten too many sweets. - Мері з’їла забагато цукерок. (Вона вже їх з’їла, дія-завершилась, але є
результат в теперішньому : вона почувається погано).
Ми використовуємо The Present Perfect Continuous:
Коли говоримо про дію, яка почалася в минулому і досі триває, але застосовуючи цей час ми наголошуємо на довготі
цієї дії. Наприклад,
•a) He has been living in Canada for 20 years. - Він живе в Канаді протягом 20 років. (аж 20 років, як довго!)
•b) She has been learning English for 10 years. - Вона вивчає англійську мову протягом 10 років. (аж 10 років, ми
наголошуємо на скільки довгою є ця дія)
Отже, ми бачимо збіг, що і The Present Perfect, і The Present Perfect Continuous ми використовуємо, коли говоримо про
дію, яка розпочалася в минулому і досі триває. Так в чому ж різниця? Як знати який саме час нам необхідно
застосувати?
Якщо ми порівнюємо ці 2 часи, то необхідно знати:
1. Якщо ви вживаєте The Present Perfect, то ви наголошуєте на своєму досвіді, а якщо використовуєте The Present
Perfect Continuous то, ви наголошуєте на довготі дії. Порівняйте ці 2 речення:
•a) He has taught Spanish for 10 years. 
•b) He has been teaching Spanish for 10 years. 
2. Крім того, в інших випадках, якщо ви використовуєте  The Present Perfect, то ви наголошуєте на тому, що дія-
завершена, а от якщо ви використовуєте The Present Perfect Continuous, то ви наголошуєте на тому, що дія -
незавершена. Порівняйте ці 2 речення:
•a) He has рainted a room. ( в даному реченні The Present Perfect показує, що дія- завершена, отже кімната вже
пофарбована).
•b) He has been painting a room. ( в цьому реченні The Present Perfect Continuous показує, що дія - незавершена, тобто
він почав фарбувати кімнату, але ще не завершив).
Отже, як ви можете зрозуміти, все залежить від того, на що ви хочете звернути чиюсь увагу.  І все набагато простіше ніж
ви думали.
• since 10 o’clock – з десятої години
• since yesterday – починаючи з вчора
• since last month – з минулого місяця
• since 1991 – з 1991 року
• since... (action in past simple) – з..., з того часу, як...
(дія, виражена в past simple)
• all day (long) – весь день
• all morning / the whole morning – весь ранок
• all evening / the whole evening – весь вечір
• all night long – всю ніч
• for half an hour – з півгодини, протягом півгодини
• for 2 hours – протягом двох годин
• for 3 days – протягом трьох днів
• lately – останнім часом
• recently – нещодавно
