• Diameter of Hole
• Depth of Hole (20-30% more than the
required breach)
• Inclination – Vertical
• Distance from edge of bund may be equal to
diameter of hole (inches=meter)

Burden:
Hole dia. in inches = Meters
Spacing:
S = 1.25 x Burden
Sub Drilling:
U = 0.03 x Burden
Stemming:
Ho = Burden
Relation between Burden & Depth
Burden < depth of hole.
Distance between the holes = 1.25 times burden.
CHARGE CALCULATION :
Bottom Charge:
• Concentration = Ib = 7.85 d2 P
• (D=hole dia in dm , P=packing degree)
• Height = hb = 1.3 Burden
• Quantity = Qb = hb x Ib
Column Charge:
• Concentration = 40 – 50% of Ib.
• Height = Hc = H – Hb – Ho
• Quantity = Qc = Ic x Hc
Total Charge:
• Q = Qb + Qc
