KATAPUSANG HIBIK NG PILIPINAS

recargo't impuwesto'y nagsala-salabat.
 Gapusing mahigpit ang mga Tagalog;

ganda
Aking adhika,
Makita kang sakdal laya.

REFLECTIONS BEFORE A WATERFALL
TERESITA V. GUILLEN
 From the pulpit crag,  Even the rocks will someday
the waters rush to the rocks crumble
below to the furious persistence
where they churn and foam
of the waters.
like Styx boiling.
Dead leaves and broken twigs Can I hurl myself
and the carcasses of dogs and cat into the swirling depths below
plunge likewise in the maelstrom, and emerged unscathed,
engulfed by the angry swirl unbruised?
below.
And the waters clash and seethe
against the stuboorn rocks
clipping off their defiance
bit by bit,
in a slow and painless death
