Angles

Angle is the union of two

noncollinear rays with a
common endpoint.
The sides of an angle are the
two rays of an angle.
Vertex is the common endpoint
of the angle.

The symbol “” is used to show

angles.

sides of ∠𝐶𝑂𝐷?
4. What is the

∠3 and ∠4?
5. Which angles have as a
side?
6. List down all the angles

5. Which angles have as a side?
6. Which points are in the interior of ∠𝐵𝑂𝐸?
7. Which points are in the exterior of ∠𝐵𝑂𝐷?
8. Which angles have point O as vertex?
9. Classify each angle in # 6 as acute, obtuse

Three parts of a plane separated by
an angle:
1. The interior of the angles
2. The exterior of the angles
3. The angle itself
 The measure of an angle is the
amount opening between two rays
forming the sides.
 A protractor is used to measure an
angle. The scale is divided into 180
equal units. Each unit is one degree.
Angle Measurement Postulate
To each angle, there corresponds a
unique positive real number between
0 and 180 that gives the degree
measure of the angle.
How to use a Protractor?
1. Place the center point of the protractor
on the vertex of the angle to be
measured.
2. Line up the mark labeled 0 on either
scale with one side of the angle
