Radio logo – Kiss FM
• What is the purpose and use of the logo? –
The logo’s purpose and use is for people to identify the radio, be it on a poster, app, website, etc…
• Who is the intended audience of the logo? –
The targeted audience are teens and adults who may be interested in the songs they play.
• What assets and features can you see? –
It is pretty simple, it has an irregular pentagon that is almost shaped like the letter ‘K’, then the name of the
radio: ‘KISS’. The logo has one solid colour which is a shade of purple. The use of purple could be softer to
the unlike most radio stations, so that could be more eye-catching and standing out from the others. The
colour of the logo could also give off a ‘comfortable’ feeling, attracting the audience to listen the their station.
The size of the image is 795 x 451 pixels.
• Strengths and weaknesses –
Pretty simple, not to chaotic and messy, however, it’s weakness is that isn’t not too eye catching, so it may
not interest anyone who is searching for interesting radio stations to listen to.
Radio poster – Kiss FM
• What is the purpose and use of the poster? –
The purpose and use is to advertise what artist will be playing at which day and what time.
• Who is the intended audience of the poster? –
The intended audience are the people are interested in these specific artists or who are just
interested in who will be playing. The poster is in a style that suggests the theme of the musicians
which could attract listeners who may be interested in that type of theme.
• What assets and features can you see? –
The poster has four different colours with different shades. It has rectangles and triangles as well as
the effect that the poster has been teared. The tears and cracks could be involved in the genres of the
artists playing – giving the idea of what songs could be playing.
Image size is 825 x 825
The colours on the poster are purple/pink, yellow, white and shades of grey. They used pink/purple
and a shade of yellow that is opposite to pink on the colour wheel which are complimentary colours.
Using two simple brighter colours catches the eye of the reader and highlights the important
information needed to be read.
Having a dark background (dark greys and lighter greys) makes the words, which are bright and
stand out, it makes it easier to read and doesn’t distract the reader from the important information.
At the bottom of the poster, it includes the radio station’s website and the sentence ‘Play Kiss FM’.
These are to advertise their website and urging the reader to listen to their station.
• Strengths and weaknesses –
The poster is not busy with many shapes and colours, it is kept simple but still out standing. This
strength is because it prevents whomever is reading it to not be discouraged by the overwhelming
designs. There is nothing too much going on to distract whomever is reading it. The weakness is that
it doesn’t say the specific date of the event, so no one may not know the day, month or even year.
