performed and delivered in front of spectators.

• It is a form of art which may be purposive of


entertaining its audience.

• Music, theatre, Dance and Acting


What is MUSIC?

• is the art of combining vocal or


instrumental sounds or both to produce
beauty of form, harmony, and expression
of emotion.
What is MUSIC?

 Different things to different people.


 Pure magic
 Tells stories, breaks hearts, reduces us to tears, or
seduces us into falling in love, over and over again.
 Mystery, a code; a vehicle of spirit and soul.
 Culture from every origin; it is identity and belonging.
 A wonderful gift to humanity.

Philippine Contemporary Music

• Original Pilipino Music or OPM referred to Philippine


pop or popular songs specifically ballads.

• In the 1990’s orginal Filipino bands came such as the


Eraserheads, South Border, Rivermaya, Spongecola,
Parokya ni Edgar, Itchyworms and Siakol.

What is Theater?

• Is a collaborative form of fine art that


uses live performers to present the
experience of a real or imagined event
before a live audience in a specific place.
• Performers may communicate
this experience to the
audience through and
immediacy of the experience.

playwrights that respond to
contemporary issues and concerns.
Basic Concepts of Theater

Theater is a living art that features living actors


performing before a live audience.
Theater is actor’s art first and foremost.
An actor’s art is based on imitation.
Theater is a collaborative effort.
Theater has two basic styles: presentational and
representational.

Arrive early

Please sit in the seat you are assigned.
Please silence or turn off all electronic device.
Most shows do not allow photography of any kind.
The overture is part of the performance.
The sound system for each show is provided by the
touring production.
Please refrain from talking, humming or singing along
with the show.
Please wait for an appropriate moment to dig something.
Go easy with the perfume and cologne.
If you need assistance during the show, please go to your
nearest volunteer usher.
Outside food and beverage are not allowed inside the
theater.
