1. Shortage of finance crippled every part of the construction

2. Shortage of cement from factories

3. Project delay and inflation made cash inflow way less than
cash outflow

4. Lack of explosive for rock excavation

5. Failure in maintenance and fuel provision for Engineer’s


vehicles

6. Failure in provision of Engineer’s camp and contractual


obligation of provision of lodging and boarding
7. Actions Done to Overcome the Challenges

1. The contractor advised to inject cash from other sources to


finish the project.

2. Additional advance payment certified and on the process of


payment

3. Price adjustment resolution and guideline has been


suspended in order to help financial problem of the
contractor
4. Work program repeatedly revised in order to carefully use
resources effectively for the project

5. The contractor repeatedly advised to give attention to


Engineer’s vehicles maintenance, fuel provision, and
accommodation compensation fees
8. Way Forward

1. The contractor should inject cash from other sources to


finish the project.

2. Proper support for cement provision from factories should


be made

3. Support in availing foreign currency to purchase explosive


from abroad
4. Proper attention to fuel provision and maintenance of
Engineer’s vehicles

5. Proper attention to provision of lodging and boarding in


form of accommodation compensation fees
