At the end of the session, we will be able

to:
1. Define and differentiate polygons;
2. Determine and illustrate polygons; and
3. Precisely give the number of sides and
angles of a given polygon and name
those corresponding sides, angles, and
vertices.
INARAWAN NATIONAL HIGH

PO LYG O N
comes from two Greek words “poly” which
means “many” and “gon” which means
“angles”. It is a closed plane figure that is
determined by its non – collinear segments
(sides) that meets on a common endpoint
(vertex).

The polygons are named by their sides.

A triangle has three sides. It also has three angles. “tri”
which means “3”.
A quadrilateral has four sides and four angles. “quad’ means
“4”.
A pentagon has five sides, and it has five angles. “pent”
means “5”.

ASSIGNMENT
Analyze the given situation.
A student claimed that there is a regular polygon
with each interior angle measure of 120°.
Determine if the student’s claim is true. If the
claim is true, identify the polygon.
DIAGONALS OF
A POLYGON 22

A diagonal of a polygon is a line

segment that connects two non-adjacent
vertices. In other words, it’s a straight
line that goes from one corner of the
polygon to another, but not one of the
edges.

At the end of the session, we will be able to:

1. Identify some simple statistical instruments in
gathering data by filling the blanks from the box;
2. Distinguish the types of question being used
through recitation;
3. Value the Importance of statistical instruments
through answering statistical questions; and
4. Formulate simple statistical instrument.
