Board Meeting

April 14, 2009

Held at: Sandy Miller’s house; 3443 N Jackson Ave

Present: Sandy Miller, Ellie Patterson, John Singley, Mike Murray, Lynn Wilson, Liz
Saxby, Tom Rhodes

The meeting was called to order at 6:08.

A. We discussed the party. Set-up will start at 10:00 am at Ellie’s. Ellie and Tom will shop for
hamburgers, hot dogs, buns, condiments (mustard, ketchup, pickles, onion, tomatoes,
lettuce), water, paper plates, napkins, utensils, soda. Mike’s bringing beer (4 cases). Sandy
will call Jon about the party signs for the traffic circles. (Linda talked to him.)
B. Linda should plan to set up a table for collecting dues at the party.
C. Lynn won’t be there, so she will get her tables, chairs, and the neighborhood “map” to Ellie
before hand.
D. Everybody expressed a big YES on the ice cream that Linda offered to make, and leftovers
were even requested!
E. The issue of the music being too loud and too long was brought up. Tom said the band would
be more than happy to play less and eat & drink more.
F. Sandy told the Board about the crime meeting scheduled for Saturday, April 25 at 2:30 at
Northminster Presbyterian Church.
G. We discussed the stickers for cars that belong in the neighborhood. The gecko (white-on-
green) was overwhelmingly preferred. Ellie will get some quotes for getting them made
(approximately 3” x 3” square, for placing inside the window). It was decided that there
would be no effort to record who had what sticker. It was also decided to “suggest” that they
be placed in the lower left corner (driver’s side) of the rear window.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:55.

The next meeting will be at Jon’s house, 2201 E Lind Rd, on May 12th.
(Note the meeting has been rescheduled for May 19th, so John and Sandy can attend the meeting
of the Alvernon/Grant neighborhoods to see how they are running their multi-neighborhood
crime prevention program.)
