Description of artifact and how the artifact meets the standard:
After spring break one of our special education students had a substitute 1:1 associate. These
situations have been troublesome for this student in the past so when she had an amazing day I
wanted to provide substantive, timely, and constructive feedback to her parents.

Reflection on artifact (what went right, what went wrong, how to make better):
This child has had some rough days in the months prior to this email and I know that her mother
really appreciates knowing how her daughters day went, because her daughter is non-verbal. I
think it is important to let parents know about the successes of their child. Communicating the
successes creates a great relationship between the teacher and parent and makes it easier if I ever
do need to call and talk to parents about something that may have gone wrong in their childs day.
