Description of artifact and how the artifact meets the standard:
As an educator it is important to demonstrate the ability to enhance academic performance and
support for implementation of the school districts student achievement goals by understanding and
uses the results of multiple assessments to guide planning and instruction.
This is achieved by using a students weekly progress monitoring scores to develop a plan of action
to better assist her on meeting her math goal. This student has an IEP goal to label colors, shapes,
and numbers. In addition to collecting IEP data I collect data for this student using our GOLD
assessment to get a better understanding of her math needs.
Reflection on artifact (what went right, what went wrong, how to make better):
This student has been making wonderful progress with identify colors. I think they are easier for her
to understand and more reinforcing than shapes and numbers. She is starting to get shapes, but
after reviewing her data a few months back I realized that she needed a change. I started using
shape blocks and a shape sorter to help her with her shapes and it has been great. When it comes
to identifying numbers she has not made any progress. I have tries using cards and bingo games,
my next step is to use a dice game with a numeral die.
