• The origin of wap can be traced to 1995 by
erricsson.this european cellulart telephone
manufacturer began work on protocol reffered as
intelligent terminal transfer protocol(ittp)
• This ittp was being deloped as a mechanism to
facilitate the addition of services to mobile
telephone platforms.
• 1st series of standards reffered as wap 1.1 were
released in the spring of the year 2000
