Situation: SOW: Create online presence in Financial Services Market with a fully
interactive website for corporate clients. We were referred to the client by IB
M as a preferred partner. Functions: Provide financial information, track accoun
t history, make inquiries and interact in live chat with brokers. The customer h
ad begun the process with another firm – project had exceeded costs – customer was in th
e process of determining if they could afford to proceed and wanted us initially
to create a re-useable prototype to provide an ‘aerial view’ of their objectives.

Situation: SOW: Design and development of end-to-end online insurance applicatio
n (intranet) on WebSphere platform. Project begun internally on a weak matrix – all
work done internally under one employee acting as PM. Requirements gathering alo
ne had taken over one year – the output was literally a book of requirements that te
am members could neither interpret nor implement. The project had exceeded the t
riple threat (time, cost, scope).. The client was in the process of deciding whe
ther the project was feasible, and whether to proceed or cancel. We were referre
d by IBM as a preferred partner.
My role as team co-leader:
- Requirements Management - Met with stakeholders to re-gather requirement
s, manage them, and provide a meaningful interpretation of requirements for the
team to proceed.
