- standardization sample: The standardization sample consisted of (1361)

students from normal students. The sample was selected from a random
sample from public schools in the province of Damascus.

They are represented by the following:

Test (TONI -3) (A), It is a basic research tool, which the researcher
studying depending on the original.
Test (TONI -3) (B), a form equivalent to the basic search tool.
Raven's Progressive matrices test.
Nonverbal battery of cognitive abilities test (CogAt).
Nonverbal intelligence test for the Deaf.
Academic achievement.

Limits of the Research:

Human Limits: research has been applied to normal students and deaf, who
ranged in age between (7-12) years.
The Spatial Limits: The search was applied in the deaf centers and schools
in the province of Damascus.
Time Limits: Search was implemented within the time limits are academic
year ( 2012 - 2013).

Terminologies of the Research:

- Nonverbal Intelligence test: are tests that measure mental capacity
without language-dependent, or on the background of certain cultural, has
used the language in which to give instructions only, which can be translated
into the language of Screened, and usually triggers the phrase on the forms
and graphics and images or tasks advanced functionality.

Tools of the Search:

- Academic achievement: the result of the students' scores in the academic

year in which the research was applied.

Results of the Research:

Based on the field study, it transpired that the test (TONI -3) which is
codified in the Syrian environment is valid for local application, and its
results can be trusted, due to the fact that the degrees of the Syrian image of
the test is distributed among the members of the research individuals quite
close to the natural distribution. This is indicated by the graphics, dispersion
tests and the tests of central tendency that was close and fell within the
normal limits.
Hence, the results that have been reached to as a result of applying the test of
on the sample can be generalized to be applied on the original individuals of
the community. Indices of the validity & reliability of the Syrian version
of (TONI -3):
Indices of reliability and consistency of the Measure have been extracted by
numerous methods. They are:
1. Inter-consistency by using Kuder-Richardson Formula. Reliability
coefficients by these methods for the study sample were an
acceptable.
2. Reliability by Half-Split method. Reliability coefficients for (normal
group has been computed, and ranged between 0.76 and 0.97, but the
deaf group reliability coefficients were reached (0.66).
3. Equivalent Forms reliability. The Reliability coefficients were reached
(0.96).
4. Re-test reliability. Test was re-applied again after period ranged
between 2-3 weeks the reliability coefficients were reached (0.961).
As for finding of studying the validity of (TONI-3) Syrian version, in
addition to "Content validity" indicators of Criterion validity of the scale

- Deaf: A person who suffers from hearing loss, ranging from (70 - 100
dB), so hinders hear and understand speech, verbal communication and
forfeits right, even if used certain audio.

On the method in study in validity was the Factor Analysis method which is
run through studying the validity range of the test, factor analysis showed
the presence of three factors. The research also showed a correlation
between each item and the total score for the test, and the criterion
referenced validity (concurrent validity) where the correlation coefficient
between the test (TONI -3) and (RPM) at the sample of the normal
individuals (0.89), and the sample of the deaf individuals (0.85), and the
correlation coefficient between the test (TONI -3) and (CogAt) at the sample
of the normal individuals ranged between (0.53 and 0.66), and the
correlation coefficient between the test (TONI-3) and Nonverbal intelligence
test for the Deaf at the sample of the deaf individuals (0.78), As for the
correlation coefficient between the test (TONI -3) and test academic
achievement at the sample of the normal individuals (0.64), and the sample
of the deaf individuals (0.79).

The results also showed:

- The existence of difference of statistical reference between the average
scores of the normal children and the average scores of the deaf children on
(TONI -3) in total score is on behalf of the normal ones.
- There are no statistically significant differences in the means of research
sample subjects attributed to gender or sex variable.
- There are differences of statistical indication between the average scores of
the normal children on (TONI-3) that goes back to the age.

In addition to that, the criterions related to the Syrian image were

extracted from (TONI-3) Test, which are represented in IQ deviation,
and percentile ranks.
Finally, the results of this research indicate acceptable offer a psychometric
characteristics of the test to the students in the age group of (7-12) years.

have been achieved through finding correlation coefficients between study

sample on the scale achievement, in addition to number of Criteria
intelligence scales after working out validity and reliability indicators for
each of the Tests.
