Changing over time

Read the directions below and follow them!

1. Think of a make believe animal/organism/alien from this or another world, and then
draw that animal/organism/alien in full color and the drawing has to be at least as big
as your hand.

2. Write a paragraph to describe your animal/organism/alien (5 to 8 sentences). Your

paragraph should include the following:
The name of your imaginary animal/organism/alien
Description of the environment it lives in
How it is adapted to live in its environment
A description of what it looks (for example what is its height, weight, is it
hairy, a carnivore, nocturnal?)

3. On the back, pretend that it has been over 50,000 years and some changes have
occurred in the environment and your animal/organism/alien. Turn Over
4. Redraw your animal/organism/alien and how it has changed over 50,000. You need
to draw at least 2 adaptations to the new environment.

5. Write a paragraph (5 to 8 sentences) to describe how your animal/organism/alien and

its environment has changed over time. Explain how natural selection has changed
your animal/organism/alien. Be specific! Changes can include but are not limited to:

Temperature change
Change in diet
Change in amount of moisture
