FAM RUN

I. INTRODUCTION
The Fam Run 2017 brings families together to celebrate health and
wellness, support educational enrichment for community students. The race, put
on by the Butong Elementary School PTA, is a fun way for families to celebrate a
healthy lifestyles and get active together. The BES PTA created the race to raise
money to enhance the educational experience of BES students, promote healthy
lifestyles, and build and strengthen the bonds of community in Butong where
BES students and families live, learn, work and play.

II. OBJECTIVES:

1. To promote healthy lifestyles, and build and strengthen the bonds of

community in Butong where students and families live, learn, work and play.
2. To raise funds for the development of the school facilities.

III. HIGHLIGHTS OF ACCOMPLISHMENTS

As early as 5:00 oclock in the morning, participants were already at Purok

1 which is situated at the boundary of Barangay Bigaa and Barangay Butong.
Registration of the participants started as they came in the venue.The said
registration activity ended at 5:20 AM. While the registration activity is ongoing, a
warm-up exercise was conducted in order to set the condition of everyone.

People from various sectors in the community- teachers and students of

Butong Elementary School, parents have gathered together and rallied for a
cause at the specified venue for the Fam Run 2017.The community ambiance
has turned out to be pleasing and soothing to the eyes as mostly all the
participants came in white shirts- all ready for the run.

As Mr. Alfonso Jairus Ani signal that the fun run will start at any moment,
all the participants eagerly advanced to the STARTING LINE of the Fam Run.
With the assistance of the Butong barangay tanod, the activity took off orderly
based from the plan. At exactly 5:30 AM, the starting line has been filled with
happy rumbles of feet-running, jogging, and walking their way out to be a finisher
in this fun run.
The route- from Purok 1 (starting line) to Butong Elementary School where
the finish line was sited. This Fun Run trail is estimated at less than 500 meters
distance.
The barangay tanod and the teachers were all visible during and after the
activity with the patrol car, all going to and fro the Fun Run route to ensure the
safety of the runners.
 At almost 6:00 AM, all the finishers gathered inside the Butong Elementary
School. After which, a short opening program was held.The program was hosted
by Mrs. Maylene D. Morales and Ms. Jenilyn R. Nevalga, both grade two
teachers. The prayer was led by Mrs. Elsie Irabon.
In the said opening program, Mrs. Ma. Theresa S. Ramos, Principal I of
Butong Elementary School enthusiastically thanked the participants. She likewise
introduced the noble purpose of the activity. She as well, commended the
working groups and committees and all those who took part in making the activity
a proven reality and success. Mr. Natalio Elomina, GPTA president has similarly
expressed his admiration to the activity and to its self-sacrificing purpose. He
expressed his words of gratitude to all supporters of this activity.They likewise
expressed their full support for the said activity.
Mrs. Maylene D. Morales and Ms. Jenilyn R. Nevalga announced the
winners for the FIFTH FINISHERS it was the Velasco family, FOURTH
FINISHERS - Abella family, THIRD FINISHERS - Hijada family, SECOND
FINISHERS - Misa family and the FIRST FINISHERS of 2017 Family Run is no
other than the Matchica Family. All the winners received trophy, certificates and
groceries.
Fun, refreshments and socialization have filled the school ambiance after
the program.

At the outset, the FAM RUN 2017 has generated MORE THAN
P10,000.00_. The said proceeds will be use for the 2017 PTA Project.

At the onset, the activity has also steered advocacy beyond helping and
volunteerism. All the participants enjoyed the run as it enjoined an opportunity for
unwinding, health exercise and for bridging camaraderie among themselves.

GENERALLY, the purpose of the FAM RUN 2017 has been served,
achieved, and successfully accomplished. The participants have expressed their
positive evaluation.

They are all LOOKING FORWARD to the FAM RUN 2018.

VI. RECOMMENDATION

I strongly recommend that Butong Elementary School should have

activities like this every year. Participating in activities like these keep the
students, parents, teachers and other stakeholders of BES to be healthy, and it
also build and strengthen the bonds of community in Butong where BES students
and families live, learn, work and play.
