“Ganpati Bappa Morya”

Since 2010 we are celebrating Ganesh Festival in IIT Guwahati. We all Marathi community and
some of our friends from other state were enthusiastically involved in the celebration. We
celebrate Ganesh Festival of 5 days. Festival is official festival of IITG but whole and sole depends
on the door to door money collection (donation). We asked almost each and every IITG person
for donation. Donation and its amount is totally depends on the that person. Remember this
festival is for all IITG so it requires large manpower and high management skill, always you must
have word with Wagh sir.

Here me Sagar and Harshad we are providing this document cum help book for the upcoming
team for easygoing life for managing the event.

5 Days are mainly divided into following function

1. Murtiavahan
2. Mahapooja and Satyanarayn
3. Cultural Program
4. Mahaprasad
5. Visarjan

Make teams for all the events

Core Team:

Core team contents three members namely; the designation and responsibilities of team
members are follows;

i. President
ii. Secretary
iii. Treasurer

Team 1: Ganesh Idol and Stage Decorations

Responsibilities:

 Prepation for day 1 start 2 month before the actual day. It starts from the booking of
Manas community hall. Remember Techniche (the technical event of IITG) people may
already have booked the hall please communicate with them. For booking of manas hall

o You required one signature from Faculty Most probably take from Wagh sir
 Book the idol as early as possible and consider following instructions

Cost: 10k to 15k

Height of idol: Not more than 4 feet

Prerequisite: Provide small idol of Ganesh (we have small idol)

Things to remember:

1. Make sure you already had communication with tempo guy for the transportation

3. Atleast 6 peoples with their institute ID card (Strong and matured people)
remember we are going outside the campus so you must follow the rules of
institute and road.
4. Careful about up and downs on road
5. Remember Idol is very sensitive to shock and not rigid, please have precautions
 Book lamp form Security section for whole program. Write hand written application to
the head of security section. Mentions the number of days. Assign one fix person for all
type of permission letters and clerical work.
