The question of Christianity’s bases in the


conception of Late Stoicism
Summary
The article is about the versions of the bases of Christianity, which
has a connection with the Stoicism, a philosophical course, which was
created at the III century B.C. in Greece. The latest representatives of
Stoicism Seneca, Epictete and Marci Aurelii, mainly wrote about such
themes into their treatises, that they were considered to be very close to
Christianity, as they, herewith, were forming in the same epoch. But as
we look about the historical facts and biographical notifications of that
philosophers’ life we found that it’s practically impossible to announce
something resolutely about the relationship between Stoics and
Christianity.

Summary
This paper analyzes religious motives in the literary works of
XIX century Georgian classical author Ilia Chavchavadze. These
motives are not represented in his works perfectly; author speaks
only about some of them: about the closeness of the Father and
Son; the achievement of the happiness by the way of torture,
preaching the Divine commandments, love one’s neighbor and
enemy – the way which shows us how to attain the perfection - to
conceive the God - and to achieve the eternal life by faith.

Summary

In the work presented us we discussed as fast as possible


the church (dependent on the Jerusalem Cross Monastery),
the history of the Cross Father church. The exact date of the
church's construction is not know, but it considered to be
built in the second half of the 16th century.
Supposedly Cross Father Church was donated to the
Jerusalem Cross Monastery immediately after it was built
and was the residence of the archimandrites who had arrived
from Jerusalem and were the rulers of patrimony.

The relationship between church and state in early


middle ages

Summary

The relationship between church and state is one of the most


important issues in Medieval History. When Christianity was
declared as state religion in Roman Empire a newly formed
church became the strongest organization. After division of the
Roman Empire two different distinctive relations formed between
secular and Church authorities. In the west, strong, ideological
and political circumstances determined the Pope’s dominant
power. After the fall of Western Roman Empire in 5th century no
signal secular power emerged in West and the Pope religious
authority gained also secular functions.

Different process took place in Eastern Roman Empire also


known as Byzantium. The strong secular power and authority of
emperor didn’t give possibility church to be dominant, on the
contrary church and state were separate. Sometimes church was
under the big influence of the state... It will be very useful finally
to conclude and analyze the characteristic of ‘Caesaropapism”.

Was it typical for Western Europe in middle ages or for
Byzantium?

When we are dealing with relationship between state and


church we have to mention about Constantine I who transformed
the religious and political ideology, created new Christian empire,
with strong cult of Christian emperor.

The different cultural, religious and exceptional form of


thinking which developed in Byzantium and in Europe was very
important. Those issues determine the totally different relation
between State and Church.
