Education units : SMP N 2 Gebog
Subjects : Integrated Science
Grade / Semester : IX / 1
Subject matter : Reproductive System In Humans
Theme : Male Reproductive System
Time Allocation : 1 x 25 Minutes

A. Core Competencies
1. Appreciate and live the religious teachings he embraces.
2. Appreciate and live honest, disciplined, responsible, caring behavior (tolerance,
mutual assistance), courteous, confident, in interacting effectively with the
social and natural environment within the reach of the association and its
existence.
3. Understanding the knowledge (factual, conceptual, and procedural) based his
curiosity about science, technology, art, culture-related phenomena and eye-
catching events.
4. Try, process, and serve in a concrete realm (using, parse, compose, modify, and
create) and abstract realm (writing, reading, computing, drawing and
composing) according to what is learned in school and other sources in the same
point of view / theory.

B. Basic Competencies and Indicators of Achievement

Basic competencies Indicator

3.1 Describing the structure and 1. Identify the constituent organs of

function of the reproductive system in the male reproductive system
humans, disorders and diseases of the
reproductive system, and 2. Identify spermatogenesis
implementation of healthy lifestyles (spermatogenesis)
that support reproductive health

4.1 Presenting the search results from a 1. Presenting the report of the
variety of sources of information on discussion group in the form of
infectious diseases and prevention completing the picture of the male
efforts. reproductive system and
spermatogenesis chart
C. Learning objectives
1. Learners are logically able to identify the constituent organs of the male
reproductive system through discussion and explanation of the teacher.
2. Learners are logically able to explain the function of oergan-organ male
reproductive constituent through discussion and explanation of the teacher.
3. Learners are confidently able to present a report on the discussion group in
the form of completing the picture of the male reproductive system.

D. Learning materials
1. Organs Male Reproductive System

Figure 1. Male Reproductive Organ.

Reproductive organs or male genitalia can be divided into the external

genitals and the genitals.

a. External Genital
External genitalia is genitalia which is located on the outside of the body
and can be observed directly.
1) penis
For men, the urine excreted through the organ whose name penis. Penis
function as the urethra (urine) and as the sperm ducts. The penis is made up
of muscles and does not contain any bones. At the end of the penis are
structures like folds of skin, called the foreskin (prepuce). This foreskin is
cut when someone was circumcised.
2) scrotum
In the near penis there are pockets that look like skin folds his name scrotum.
On the scrotum there are two (a pair of) the testes or testicles are oval. The
scrotum also serves to maintain the temperature of the testes to be suitable
for the production of sperm.
b. Genital In
Genitals in the genitals which is located on the inside of the body and can
not be observed directly. Genitals in, among others, consists of the testicles, the
vas deferens, the urethra and reproductive glands.
1) Testes
The testes are reproductive organs that are oval, amounting to two pieces (1
pair) and contained in the scrotum. At this time, maybe you are between 13
or 14 years. At the age of testes begin to produce sperm or male sex hormone
testosterone. Sperm is a single cell that has the tail and the head of which is
the sex cells for men. Meanwhile, the hormone testosterone is a compound
that can stimulate physical changes in boys is enlargement of the Adam's
apple and the growth of hair in certain places, for example mustache. At this
time males are at puberty. Puberty is a time when a child's maturation sexual
function with physical and psychological changes
2) channel Sperm
Sperm are produced in the testes will exit through the epididymis. The
epididymis is a channel that is out of the testicles. In this channel the sperm
is stored temporarily until fully developed, and to move towards the next
line is the vas deferens. Vas de ferens is the channel that connects the
epididymis and the urethra and serves as a conduit sperm to the urethra.
3) urethra
The urethra is the final line of the male reproductive tract contained in the
penis. Urethra in addition to functioning as a channel release of sperm also
serves as sa Contribution of urine. The process of the release of sperm is
known as ejaculation.
4) Reproductive glands
Reproductive glands function to produce sap or fluid that mixes with sperm
cells eventually become sperm or semen. Reproductive glands in males
consists of the following.
a) The seminal vesicles
The seminal vesicles are structures shaped like a crumpled bag small (±
5 cm) located at the back (posterior) of the bladder. This gland produces
a substance is alkaline (alkaline), fructose (sugar monosaccharide),
prostaglandins, and the clotting proteins.
b) Prostate
The prostate gland function produces a whitish fluid, slightly acidic (pH
6.5) and contains several substances, namely: 1) the citric acid in order
to right to generate energy (ATP); 2) some enzymes, namely
pepsinogen, lysozyme, and amylase; 3) seminal plasmin, which serves
as an antibiotic to kill the bacteria in the reproductive tract.
c) Cowper's glands (Bulbouretra)
Cowper's glands produce mucus and alkaline liquid that serves to protect
the sperm by neutralizing the acid pH of urine has left in the urethra and
urethral lining
thereby reducing defective sperm during ejaculation. Testicular sperm
produced will mix with the juices produced by the reproductive glands
to form a suspension (a mixture of liquid and solids) called semen
(sperm). Semen this is expelled through the urethra. In general, the
volume of cement issued by 2.5-5 milliliters (mL). Each 1 milliliter
contains 50-150 million sperm cells. Of the millions of sperm cells are
later only 1 (one) sperm will successfully fertilize the egg.
2. Spermatogenesis

Spermatogenesis is called spermatogenesis. Sperm cell formation occurs in the

seminiferous tubules. The word "tubular" is derived from the word "tubules" which
means the channel, while the word "seminiferous" comes from the word "cement"
which means the sperm. So the seminiferous tubules is a long line winding places
sperm formation. This is actually a set of tubular structures that form the testis.
Spermatogenesis in the channel occurs gradually. Starting from sperm or
spermatogonial stem cells are diploid (2n). Furthermore, the spermatogonial cells
undergo mitosis and meiosis cleavage and undergo differentiation or development
to form sperm cells or spermatozoa tail. The formed sperm cells are haploid (n).
