LESSON PLAN IN SCIENCE I

(SEPTEMBER 19 2019)

I. LESSON OBJECTIVE

Within the discussion, the pupils are expected to;

• fix the broken puzzles and identify which season is on the picture; and
• show cooperation and teamwork through participating in the group activity.

At the end of the discussion, pupils are expected to;

• identify the Four seasons, and


• describe the Four seasons

II. SUBJECT-MATTER

• Topic: Four seasons on Earth


• References:Seasons(Simply Science) by Patricia Ryon Quiri
• Materials: chalk, card board, pictures and PPT
• Process Skills: Observing, describing, identifying and inferring

III. INSTRUCTIONAL PROCEDURE

A. Preliminary Activities

i. Prayer
ii. Singing of the National Anthem
iii. Greetings
iv. Arranging of Chairs
v. Checking of Attendance
vi. Submission of assignment
vii. Review of the past lesson (the teacher will call a pupil/ pupils to recap
the past lesson)

B. Engagement/Motivation

(The teacher will show a video related to the seasons on Earth)

i. What can you say about the video you've watched?


ii. Why does Earth experience this seasons?
iii. The teacher will now present the objective of the lesson.

C. Activity
(The teacher will divide the class into four and let the pupils fix the `
broken puzzles).

Then, the teacher will ask;

i. What can you observe in the pictures that you’ve fix?


ii. What came into your mind when you saw the pictures?

D. Analysis

(The teacher will show pictures and ask the pupils to identify and describe each).

E. Elaboration

i. The teacher will elaborate briefly the four seasons.


ii. The teacher will ask the pupils why it is important to know the different
seasons of Earth.
G. Abstraction

( The teacher will ask the pupil to give the summary of the discussion.)

What are the four seasons on Earth?

i. Earth has four seasons namely;


• Winter - Winter is Cold
• Spring - Spring is Warm
• Summer- Summer is hot, and
• Fall- Fall is cool
F. Application

i. The teacher will post pictures on the board and he/she will call random
pupil/s to paste the answer on it.
ii. The teacher will divide the class into four groups. Each group will
create a jingle or songs using the concept on the seasons on Earth.
