Semi- Detailed Lesson Plan

in Numeracy (Kindergarten)

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, with 75% accuracy, the students will be able to:
a. Identify and name at least five different basic shapes
b. Engage in collaborative activities to foster teamwork and a sense of
community in the classroom
c. Demonstrate the ability to trace and draw basic shapes

II. Subject Matter


Topic: Naming Different Shapes
Reference:Global Mathematics K (pages 2-11)
Materials: Laptop, Printed Materials, Different Shapes

B. Motivation
The Teacher will provide a youtube video about the different shapes.

C. Preparation
Activity: Shape Hunt
● Place various objects around the room, each presenting a
different shape.
● Ask the children to find and gather objects with a specific
shape, calling out the shape names as they collect them.

Questions:
1. How many objects have you found?
2. What objects did you find?
3. Can you identify what shape that object is?

D. Discussion
The Teacher will introduce what the shape is. She will present different
shapes to the learners and name them and how many sides the shape
has.

Questions:
1. Are you familiar with these shapes?
2. Where do you mostly see this kind of shape?
3. Can you find an object in the room that has the same shape as the
one I'm showing you?
4. Do you have these shapes at your home?

E. Generalization
Through our activities today, we have learned to identify and name
different shapes. Shapes are all around us, and by recognizing them, we
can understand the world better.

F. Application
The Teacher will group the students into two groups. Teacher J
will provide clay and let the students create different shapes. Each group
must provide 5 different shapes and present it in front of the class.

IV. Evaluation
Direction: Draw and color an object using the different shapes we have
learned.

Example. A House (square and triangle)

V. Assignment
Find and bring an object from your home that represents a specific shape,
share and talk about it during the next session in our class.
